i  had been thinking for some time about Eric’s question he asked about astrology and the Moon I have copied and pasted it below.

thanks steve, do you know why the moon is often associated with ones past?

what do you think about the moon allowing for a type of foresight, dreaming of future events or being shown the thoughts of others(like an unexpressed opinion or judgement to any particular involvement)?

The question had a more specific answer to me tonight as I meditated and was listening to a public broadcast of Hearts in Space. During the last part of meditation my thoughts drifted off to thinking about the many hundreds of times I walked on the stage where Amma was and felt the amazing feeling of love that she is able to radiate towards others.

As I thought about it I also remembered the wonderful experiences I have had being in the presence of exalted souls who are able to radiate various attributes like, spiritual power, peace, joy, lightness, dignity, wisdom, humility and devotion. After that I recalled different experiences I have had at different placements and phases of the Moon and at different cycles and position of the planets as well. It became clear to me that everything has a radiation it emits; people objects and places. Perhaps this answers Eric’s question better than my first response. When we recognize the radiation of the planets and people etc. we understand the difference between them and understand why they give off different emissions. We become more aware of what people are and have gone through which explains why they give off the vibrations they emit. Similarly planets and celestial objects have radiations they give off that affect us when we experience them.

thanks steve, i'm really happy to read about your meditations.

when i asked about the past i wasn't sure if the moon had historically been associated as representing the past through various cultures. your reflections have given me more to think on.

hope to catch up soon, this is a little off topic but have had a rather busy schedule and feel like i've been drowning in the ego. i'm beginning to remember, not to be attached to the outcome of events, even when i take charge as far as the direction of my life. not to attach to the senses, the body or the mind. not to attach to the highs or the lows. i do it with the hope that this charge will keep me in spiritual awareness. i appreciate a little discipline in my life. yet whatever role i am here to play, that too is one that doesn't need too much thought or emotion.
ps i found out today is gurunaths birthday.

Found your musing of interest to me as well. Found this info on the internet...

In Western and Chinese culture, the moon is associated with feminine energy. By contrast, the sun is associated with masculine energy. Old tales tell us that the moon needs the sun to shine, and vice versa, as these two energies balance one another. Light and dark, day and night, male and female.

Native American.

The Native Moon Symbol is the protector and guardian of the earth. Its spirit watches over us and can change our moods.

Though Japan has long declared itself 'the land of the rising sun', the moon occupies a singular, altogether more complex place in the Japanese imagination. ... So while Shinto mythology prioritises the sun as a symbol of national wellbeing, Japanese Buddhism, celebrates the moon as a symbol for inner enlightenment.

It is the common belief of Hindus that moon is a worshipping deity. The full moon emanates the most vibrant and luminescent energies of the lunar cycle whenever the earth is between the moon and sun. The moon (chandra) is of feminine gender, an indicator of mind and emotions, and the ruler of zodiac sign Cancer.

In Hinduism, Chandra is the God of the moon and the father of Budha. He is believed to be the one who causes the plants and the crops to grow. While Amavasya, the night of the new moon is considered an auspicious time. Many significant events are observed on it, like Diwali, the festival of lights
