I came back to comment on this to say it is the same practice of letting go and letting god.
It is the ultimate faith building character. Let go and Let God is the same as I love it. Swami V had us practice this in a recent guided meditation, the neighbors were chatting and without his being here he intuitively said do not hold on to the external distraction... to let go and let god... See... I was fighting the noise by holding on to it... Mental grip(his words)... Forcing... But you can be so absorbed in the divine that the noise moves around you, maybe even prods at you and you come out unphased when you accept Gods grace!! We've all experienced this!

Persistence will strike a chord with creativity then suddenly, harmony. Meditation will help us exist outside ourselves and accept the things that happen to us in this life.

This is an agreeable disposition with the belief Thy will be done.
