I was looking for a definition of Tantra Yoga but was unable to presently find one that applies to my experience of the word. Perhaps I will later. At any rate I find that getting in touch with my own passions can also be a way of God showing me/us our own abilities to bring that same strength of attraction and fixation of purpose back to the giver of such strong magnetic fields that attract us to others like a magnet.

In our desires most of us do not find an outlet for them so we are left frustrated. The result though may still be beneficial in the sense that we continue to look for happiness and the result of the often tremendous desires we are thwarted by may lead us to be empowered to use the same energy for an outlet in a different direction. In our search we are hoping to find a more fulfilling response from our quests.

It seems to me that the more we give out as far as service and  meditation practice, the more that comes back to us from the world . It is up to us to know how, to handle the love and affection that is given out to us, so we do not create new karma for ourselves.

When we do have an experience of Gods presence we recognize it is superior to any worldly experiences and then we try to make the effort to be as tender and focused in our love making to the creator as we desire for another human being.

We are all physical beings and most of us have limited spiritual awareness. So the physical tools, passions, tenderness and affection we have and is given to us can also be redirected towards our spiritual practice.

It should be no surprise to us that the Masters gave us very physical techniques to spiritualize and uplift our consciousness. The Mantra used with the physical apparatus of the breath and hatha as well as various parts of for instance; the IAM and energization exercises being prime examples of my point here.

With all these techniques given to us we have also been given love tenderness support and affection from the outer world as a reminder of Gods love for us. But not only that. The focus, attention, kindness and passion we feel for others is really a living expression of what God has given us to be able to also redirect that expression back to the giver of those blessings.

We may find spiritual experiences in physical acts. I recall having awakened states of kundalini rising while doing such Hatha yoga poses as the Salute to the Sun and having collapsed onto the floor in ecstasy. Below are a couple of the asanas (poses) I practiced as a young man.

My understanding of Tantra Yoga is that it is about perceiving God in all things, all actions.

Whether eating, breathing, dancing, making music, in friendship, romance or sex.

It has often been reduced in the West to mean "sacred sexuality" which is actually only one part of it (similar how many say "yoga" meaning "hatha yoga" not knowing there are many forms of yoga other than hatha).
