I'm about half way through. Swami just finished explaining three main paths or inclinations.
Path of...
Knowledge
Service
Devotion

I believe my dominant trait leans towards devotion based on the characteristics he has defined with each path.
Now he is explaining how to convert these paths to their spiritual counterparts.
Spiritual path of knowledge.
Spiritual path of service.
Spiritual path of devotion.

Jnana yoga
Karma yoga
Bhakti yoga
Steve your strong inclination might be Karma yoga. I would say mccoy's is Jnana yoga.
Not to say we don't have interest in all these things- I'm just an outsider sharing what I see and think might be the dominant traits in others based on our interactions here(a limited perspective indeed) ...
I understand what you are saying Eric. I was attracted to Kriya yoga because it presumably included all paths, however I must admit all Masters tend to lean one way or another and though Yogananda and other Masters show elements of all yoga….Without a doubt he promoted meditation all the time. So I would also say he was a Dhyana yogi. Which is the closest term for meditation yoga. Amma more Karma yoga and Swami more toward Jnana yoga. Actually I see myself as more of a Dhyana yogi, thus this site dedicated primarily to meditation. But I can see where you are coming from when you say I’m most likely a karma yogi.
Sometimes we go through changes and exemplify various paths. For instance right now I’m involved with a friend who is very much a karma yogi and spends much of his time helping his friends. Therefore I’m involved in that vibration presently. And at one time I was very much a Hatha yogi, even taught classes in it and had some kundalini experiences as a result of various postures… most notably the ‘salute to the sun’ sequence, where I collapsed on the floor because of the electric energy going through my body.
But I do hope to get back to long meditation at sometime again, like I was at the beginning of this site’s inception. As a yogi it is an interesting observation to see what we are presently experiencing and exemplifying, as at times we get out of balance in our daily activities and routines being influenced by are own desires (as a example; kundalini yogi) and environmental contingencies. I see my long visits with Amma as a way God was directing myself away from ME and more involved with helping others. I at one time had an ecstatic experience helping others, and i recognize now, that the experience was given to me while doing so by Amma , to show me Gods love can come through action (karma yoga) as well as through other types of yoga.
I would say that your vibe is Bhakti or devotional yoga (much like Inayat Khan) but I also see you involved in a lot of service and therefore karma yoga as service to others through action. Even here with all your posts ….thanks Eric
