Stimulation

I think we’re all looking for some form of stimulation; Whether it’s Sex, Love, Happiness, Peace, Joy or Money. Or a combination of the above. When we do not get stimulation from our activities we grow 😑 bored and often stop doing them. The challenge we face is that spiritual rewards often take time and can at first feel unfulfilling. However even though some sensory pleasures bring stimulation they are also coupled with pain which eventually leaves one unsatisfied and in search of more lasting pleasures.

Yea Eric I’m one of them thanks for reminding me; Amma mentioned this also last time I saw her; that we spend too much time on our cell phones. It can take us away from our spiritual routine.  Cry
There are some real advantages of having this technology. It brings together old souls that otherwise may be separated by thousands of miles. We know that it is only a brief time in the timeless book of spiritual understanding and that the Masters will bring us together again once our mission is finished here. It is only time. I can imagine being with a friend like you and some others that frequent us here. I am sure we will turn off these contraptions and enjoy just being in the moment. In this sense it seems important to me to assess the value of the stimulation we are given by others. There are those that give us a spiritual lift from their association. Even though we are spending time on the internet...because of the law of association and how it changes us we may be influenced to sit silently and meditate.

What is humbling to me is that Spiritual stimulation is the most lasting of all. Why? Because it can be remembered as the greatest experiences we have ever had in life! The Challenge is we have to have so much patience For them and cultivate an attitude for them to transpire.

Not sure why; never known you to say anything inappropriate.

Have you ever noticed when waking up we go to the Refrigerator seeking stimulation! What time do you have to keep a certain distance from the things we enjoy the most it’s like getting your fingers too close to a fire. We realize what we’re getting ourselves into as we get closer to the fire.

Hey Steve,
No it was just frustrations trying to nitpick from my cellphone. Again.
I should learn not to care so much about something that matters so little.
 Grin
While I'm here, you will see improvements!  Grin

Best to fill the fridge with healthy alternatives. Bored eating happens a lot. While we may not have mastery over our impulses, we can in the meantime curb the damage by stocking foods and beverages that promote wellness. If you're going to binge, at least it's spinach or blackberries instead of whatever guilty pleasure you indulge in.

I find stimulation and addiction seem to play on each other and in the process try to remember my greater goals with overall health, practice moderating the not so healthy impulses and forgiving myself when falling into any old and undesirable patterns developed over years and years. There are things we enjoy that are bad for us and where we draw the line is totally up to us... Eventually and to some degree of suffering we learn what is sustainable and what is not. I am for the middle path with the hopes of cultivating mindfulness. Ebb and flow... always hopeful and willing to fight!  Smiley

In today's world, we are overstimulated and younger generations think having a cellphone follow them into the bathroom is the norm. Scary stuff. Hope you liked the video! Saw this episode of South park after reading your thread here.  Cheesy

I have been more aware of subtle forms of stimulation that affect and motivate us. We may feel a little peace through meditation or find patterns in our life that begin to emerge that look more and more like divine order; A recognition of our purpose and plan for us in this life. It Can feel very meaningful to see as small as we seem in this universe we can find meaning in life.
