Red. Hope to hear feedback. Thanks. I do not see yellow ones in this area. Do you?

Avia's Response to
"Ladybug Love Symbolism"

Hello Mike,

Firstly, I want to recognize (and commend) your level of sensitivity. It takes a special soul to pick up on the subtle cues and messages of Nature, especially from the tiniest insect realms.

There is an ancient Chinese legend that links the ladybug with love. The story goes that when a ladybug comes to call, it is a sign that true love will also pay us a visit. Further renditions of the legend state the number of spots on the ladybug indicate the amount of months that will pass until we are united with our true love.

I love myth and legends, but I don't subscribe to hanging all of our hopes on them.

Rather, I look within (the soul, heart, mind, etc) and see how my inner impulses relate to the symbolic phenomenon occurring in my life (such as a visitation from a ladybug).

I also love the presence of color in nature, and often link chakra meanings (chakras are energy centers in the body and presented to us by ancient Hindu wisdom) to colors that come to me in visitations.

For example, the ladybug (to me) is a symbol of passion, ardor, adoration, amorousness because of its color, red. According to chakra wisdom, red is associated with the Muladhara charka (the root chakra) which deals with passion, desire, primal urge and even sex. There are other subtle layers to this chakra and its color, but it always triggers the feeling of a passionate fire kindling within me.

Hence, when a ladybug comes to call, I always sense its a message of connecting with my passion, connecting with a love that ignites my whole being. Very auspicious, and a very positive connection.

Does this mean the ladybug is a symbol of you united with your friend in a love relationship?

Rather than go there, I want to say the ladybug in your case is absolutely a message of love. I also want to say that love comes in countless forms. Your ladybug could be a reminder to you to keep your heart open, and remain in a loving state in order to connect with your true love (whether that be your friend, some other lucky person equally suited for you at this time, or even a love for work, hobby or reconnecting with family).

The details of your ladybug message will be left up to you to work out. But I can confirm the ladybug as an auspicious (positive) messenger of love.

Furthermore, I'm convinced the ladybug would not have come to you if you were not emitting an energy of love to begin with (they sense our energy levels, and are attracted to that "red" kind of vibe).

So...keep your heart in a loving state, and in response to that state, know that love shall always fly to you and land within your heart.

Hope this helps you Mike.

Brightly,
Avia

The ladybug.

Adorable, right? The cheery, apple-red carapace garnished with but a few, large black dots; as if a tiny pixie had painted them on, and the paintbrush tip was just too big to fit more than a few dots on. This, combined with its bumbling walk along the flowers, and its round, squat body evokes imagery of a kindred Russian grandmother, tending her garden in her brightly-colored babushka. If you are fortunate enough to get one to crawl on your hand or finger, its tiny legs tickle your skin and it eventually pops open its carapace (made of modified wings called “elytra”), and silently takes off as an itty-bitty summertime jewel of cuteness and sunshine and sparkles (and it’s supposed to be good luck! awww). Definitely adorable. Right?

Wrong.

Ladybugs (also known as “ladybirds” outside of North America, as well as “ladyclocks”, “lady cows”, and “Xena flys”) are voracious predators in their raised-bed ecosystem. Ladybugs, from the cradle to the grave, feed upon many different types of insects (many of them important crop pests, so yay), but most commonly on things like aphids. Ladybugs are built to seek-and-destroy aphids. Imagine a giant, armored tank, bearing down on you at stupid speeds, and you’re a squishy, slow, small, green thing…and you have an idea of what it’s like to be an aphid caught in the crosshairs of a hungry ladybug. Did I mention the tank’s front is equipped with more razor-sharp blades than an industrial agricultural combine? That cute little ladybug face hides a generous amount of sharp, curved mandibles that are designed by natural selection to pop an aphid’s body like a Screamin’ Green Apple-flavored Fruit Gusher. A single, adult ladybug can consume more than 1000 aphids in one day during the growing season. Seeing as how ladybugs can live up to about two years, that comes to roughly 360,000 aphid lives in the lifetime of a single ladybug, which is more than the metro population of the city I live in, Eugene, Oregon.

Not sure about those ladybugs. But they seem helpful to humans. They eat aphids which destroy crops. Perhaps they are a helpful protector from the views and impositions of others. They may remind us that we too have valid ideas and lives. Thanks for the info Eric!

Yes I do....interesting quote;

However, ladybug also cautions us not to force things or try to hard to fulfil your wishes, go with the flow and let things take their natural course. Your wishes will come true when they do – in their own time!

After experrincing a bout of anxiety the other night- the next day I noticedd a lady bug on my shirt while sitting inside my car and think the two are connected. It felt very auspicious and I think was a spirit. It was calming but bold. I cracked the window and he flew right to it and rested there a moment longer like, are you seeing me? I was certain this may have been a message from Hazarat Inayat Khan(whom I was studying the night before and reading his thoughts on death). I only learned of the word Sufi in a dream which also had a lady bug in it. The ladybug for me is divine presence, spirit communication/messenger  and a reflection or feeling... maybe a heightened expression of love/truth.

Feeling a bit down this morning I tried forcing myself to practice Surya Yoga. By the end of it a ladybug landed on me! With Faith, I know this to be a message form God!

The Lady Bug manifest itself on my car today. When this happened I was releasing my sorrows to God and feeling at the same time, so much Joy. I believe the guiding Spirit is all-ways Present and this is the one in many forms come to provide relief from recent turbulence. My consciousness is not yet rooted in even mindedness, true yoga. I hope now that same relief can be given to the ones I've shared my drama with.

the first, spiritual insect totem i've felt a strange pull of emotion to is the black butterfly.
the other day in meditation, a pure black ladybug crawled by my feet.
when i see a black butterfly i am filled with awe, a sense of connection...
when i reflect on the black ladybug i feel a connection to my sufi dream, which makes me think something at the mystic level is happening. i don't know if it's initiation or, the end of something... but if it is the end of something it is most certainly the start of something. a chapter in spiritual evolution. i think this is a type of communication from spirit.

Ladybug Meaning, and Messages
The appearance of Ladybug symbolism heralds a time of good luck. Moreover, it means that wishes and dreams are coming to fruition. Higher goals and new heights are now possible. In other words, worries begin to dissipate and new happiness comes about. This spirit animal also cautions not to try to hard or go to fast to fulfill our dreams. Let things flow at their natural pace. In due course of time, our wishes will all come true.

Similar to the Angelfish, the Ladybug meaning could be signaling that you can leave your worries behind and that new happiness is on its way. In other words, this species of beetle is a signal that you must live your truth. Protect your truth and know that it is yours to honor.

Totem, Spirit Animal
Similar to the Armadillo, people with the Ladybug totem are most likely to be a loyal but vivacious and exciting companion. They are continually delving into the mysteries of the Universe and the unknown. These folks are also naturally highly spiritual and curious by nature. Therefore, they are rarely satisfied with mundane explanations or dull companions. For the most part, people with the Ladybug totem are open-minded and enjoy having their consciousness expanded. Thus, they tend to bring joy to those around them. People enjoy being around them. They are trusting, happy, and carefree.

Originally, the ladybug was the symbol in my spiritual dream where I discovered the words, "I am Sufi."

It was my Grandpa who took a ladybug and put it in my hand.

Later I accredited the ladybug symbol to "Divine Messenger" always with Sufi influence in the back of my mind... HIK teaching Oneness for all of life. I eventually shared this message with LaurenLoo as a testament to our enduring friendship.

Today while exercising a ladybug landed on me... I was so excited I thought I need to share this with LaurenLoo. So I went to get my camera and by the time I did this the ladybug disappeared.

I realize now I wasn't meant to share that experience with LaurenLoo, that sometimes the messenger and the message can be shared with different faces... As they all belong to One God... And perhaps in that moment I should have just thought to sit still and acknowledge with my Heart the Living Spirit choosing to grace me with His Presence.
