It is a rather unfortunate phemomena that most of us are influenced quite strongly by the movement of the planets, the Sun's position and various objects in relation to our natal charts. These movements are called transits. Having an emphemeris and checking out the movement of the planets on the internet (astro.com as an example) have helped me be very aware of the moods of others and what planetary movements are releasing karma that is affecting their behavior. It is very important to consider this when you are with friends and lovers that suddenly act in various different ways. These moods may have little to do with us personally accept that they may influence others to also feel different about us for a time.

You may not hear from someone for sometime and then suddenly hear from them just because various planets influenced their behavior or they may go into isolation because various transits triggered this behavior.

Meditation is the best way to overcome our moods. While mindfulness helps it is difficult to release the negative aspect of malignant moods without meditation to eliminate the cause of such moods; Karma. When we rise above our moods we are more able to make our decisions and act according to a more enlightened understanding and consciousness.

The Caterpillar and Alice looked at each other for some time in silence: at last the Caterpillar took the hookah out of its mouth, and addressed her in a languid, sleepy voice.
'Who are you?' said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, 'I — I hardly know, sir, just at present — at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'
'What do you mean by that?' said the Caterpillar sternly. 'Explain yourself!'
'I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, sir' said Alice, 'because I'm not myself, you see.'
