In this dream i recently had there was an alligator that came into a large house i was in with a couple of friends. It seemed rather odd. This was not an abandoned house. We closed off the doors in the part of the house where the alligator was at and went in another part of the house. Later on an elderly man and women came to the house and we told them about the alligator. They were totally unconcerned and went in any room they wanted.

'This totem often slumbers in a meditative trance for days, weeks, or even months at a time, consider the wisdom inherent in deep meditation and introspection. Also, consider how spiritually intact you are, these powerful spirit animals can go months, even up to a year, without a meal! This communicates a wholeness of spirit and body that is very important. When a Crocodile or Alligator shows up look for an opportunity connect with a deeper part of yourself, to remember the instinctual energy and primal force from which we are all born. Also, as these totems are keepers of knowledge and wisdom, remain open to new thoughts, insights, and ideas.'

A hero from my youth, and a beautiful ancient creature:

Quote

Crocodile Animal Totem Symbolism
The mighty creatures of land and water, alligators and crocodile animal totems are fairly terrifying. These reptiles represent such strength, vigor and fierceness that it’s hard to imagine them being associated with any gentle and nurturing symbolism. Well, they really aren’t. The crocodile symbolic meaning concerns much more intense spiritual realms than most other tranquil animals.

Symbolic Meaning Of Crocodile
Crocodile animal totems collectively remind us of the hypervigilance that we sometimes need to exercise. Their vision is highly evolved, allowing them to see well both at night and underwater. They have highly acute senses and encourage us to develop and rely on ours, as well. By utilizing their ability to camouflage themselves, they achieve major success as predators.

If you find the crocodile symbolism swimming into your life, you should take it as a sign to look for an opportunity to absorb new knowledge and wisdom. These seemingly ferocious beasts signify a new beginning for growth and regeneration.

Hmm. Are they also seen in other places near Houston?

‘ remain open to new thoughts... new ideas. ‘ always willing to ponder on such views since solutions and answers quite often come from unexpected quarters.

I have been working with the alligator energy in dreams lately. In one dream I meet a man who is dressed like he is form the WW2 era with boots, hat, a close shave and a riding crop. He is teaching me how to march and then teaching me how to address the many alligators in my life. The ones whose eyes glow green I would have to comfort, and or kill.

This morning after going back to sleep I dreamt that the alligator was helping me navigate past/present and future, and there was a emphasis on gender.

Alligator Totem, Spirit Animal
Those of you with the Alligator totem have a gift for bringing harmony into your life in ways that help you to survive and prosper. Moreover, you allow others to be their authentic selves and work hard at being your authentic self at all times. As an Alligator totem, you are usually in touch with your real emotions in any given situation. Additionally, you know and understand that what you project emotionally is vital for others to see. Also, you have a lot of patience in the chaos of other people’s emotions, as well as a deeper understanding of what they are genuinely expressing. Thus, you are a gifted healer in the emotional realms.

In 2021, I've had more alligators in my dream than normal. I believe this totem is with me in the grand subconscious.
I hadn't realized the play on words, All-I (all seeing eye) and the connection to a watery world (dreams) and dinosaur/reptile collective(subconscious).

Native American Alligator Meanings
For Native Americans, the alligator is a power symbol who should be respected. Because alligators live in the fresh waterways of rivers, marshes, and lakes, they are symbols of spiritual cleansing and healing. Alligators are also symbols of power and status in some Native American cultures.

The Native Americans saw alligators hunt snakes and believed they were immune to snake venom. Thus, wore necklaces made with alligator teeth or carried the teeth in a pouch to protect against snake bites and other dangers.

Steve this particularly interest me, considering this post was over three months ago- and last nights dreams had heavy emphasis on harmony between our communication and even gender roles and sexual energy.

Hmm I think we made some proper changes here at the site that may help us transcend much disharmony. I have recently noticed that in very unusual ways I have attracted people who are part of my circumstances and consciousness to explore new ways of meditative detachment in dealing with my environment. Sometimes the alligator waits in silence and reserve till it has a sudden opportunity for aggressive action. It may wait in hibernation and depend on inner reserves till the right time for sudden action arises.

It may be you are picking up energies from previous life roles as well. Digging into the subconscious we often have hunches about how various roles in people played out. We at times find we have played out some dark and murky roles with others that appear or have a longer stay in our lives. Thus the symbolism of the alligator in its swampy environments. Sometimes I’ve seen those roles play out around me and I accept it as part of my karmic past even though I would like to think that I’m above such presences… just as the people who came into the house I was in - in the beginning thread opener I started here. They showed a nonchalant lack of concern about those dangers. Not sure that is the right approach to take. However it does reflect one approach I’ve taken when dealing with such people and places. After all shouldn’t we accept that we have created our own environment and people in it, with our own actions and thoughts? —- at sometime previous to the events now unfolding around us.

Steve it's great you recognize it as roles and a play. Sometimes I think I play certain roles, be they unsavory, for a higher purpose. Other times it's a test showing me what I desire to learn. The difference between the two is I don't feel as attached to one, and seem to get over playing the 'bad guy' because I know who I am. Cheers.  Smiley

The alligator visited me last night. It was very large and had intense aggression. His eyes were yellow green with thin slits for pupils. I wonder what the man quoted above meant by comforting or killing it...

But as I speculate the unspoken energy being thrown around by my self and others, I think I begin to understand.

I am also finding, again, that the alligator energy brings not just aggression but fluidity with sexuality and communication.

"Indian Crocodile Symbolic Meanings
Hinduism features Varuna, a God who rides on a part-Crocodile mount, and his consort rides a full Crocodile. Such myths reflect the reverence given Crocodile and the reason for Crocodile worship in some regions.

Egyptian Crocodile Symbolic Meanings

Egypt had a town called Crocodilopolis, where people revered it, adorning both live animals and images of them with jewels and precious metals. The homage had ties to religious stories of the Crocodile God Sobek, who is the God of Protection, Military Prowess, Fertility, and who judges the souls of the dead. Sobek safeguards his followers from the Nile’s flooding and other associated dangers. Ancient Egyptian texts contain praise for the pharaoh as being a living incarnation of the Crocodile God.

Far Eastern Crocodile Symbolic Meanings
On Timor Island in South East Asia, Crocodiles are holy. It was a giant Crocodile that formed the island. The Papuan people of New Guinea see Crocodiles with similar reverence, considering themselves as the Crocodiles children and relatives. In discussions, the Papuan tradition speaks of Crocodile as 'father' or 'grandfather.'

Some historians in China feel the Crocodile is the inspiration for beneficent, lucky Dragons. There are myths of an aquatic Dragon whose title translates as a Crocodile.

....Because the Crocodile lives in deep, swampy regions, it has a rich connection with nature. Here it remains vigilant. In that environment, Crocodile stayed relatively unchanged and survived well for millennia. So, if someone is trying to change you into something you are not, Crocodile Spirit Animal is here as a helpmate. Stick to your convictions and keep your psychic awareness tuned to high frequency."
