i believe compassion is one of the most important qualities to develop on the spiritual path and without it how can we expect progress spiritually speaking? So in this sense it is a significant point. However many things were not discussed in this video. Among them were these: How does one develop compassion? Did the person questioning  have a guru? If so what type of meditation were they practicing? i certainly would not have asked such a question and if i did i would not b satisfied with the answer. There are ways to practice compassion. One of them is to practice various forms of meditation to develop it. Another is to willingly serve those who r in need of your assistance when it is possible.

In retrospect it seems like all the great saints and avatars that lived had this one great quality; compassion. Perhaps it is why they were able to enter such exalted states of spiritual experience. It is unlikely that we will progress much spiritually unless we care about others, want to give them our happiness as well and have compassion for them. In this sense i believe Krishnamurti is rite on track. Compassion tempered with intelligence gives rite action in all circumstances.
