i believe that after all is said and appears to b done we can be kind to one another.

Thanks Steve for your insights.  I think I agree with most of what you say, and I especially like this sentence.

I'm now at peace, and just have love for the people who I've been close to and am currently close to.  All blessings.

I also hope I am wiser now to chose to commit to friendships and relationships with people who have proven to be worthy of it.  Clearly, it has been a major lesson for me in this life to do the opposite for a bit.

I'm grateful for opportunities for personal growth, and wish the same for all of you (:

i have picked some acquaintances that were rather treacherous also. i believe it is a karmic situation. Once bitten twice shy as the saying goes. Paramahansa Yogananda has said you can never really trust someone who has proven treacherous. However WE can always be kind in our words and actions even though others may not be. That shows spiritual maturity.

I agree with that Steve.

Nothing but love for you, and all of my teachers friend.  Some teachers teach with wisdom, some with treachery, some with silence.

I feel blessed for it all.

You feeling betrayed because something didn't go your way?  Huh?

Actually, now that I think about it Eric, I'd say everything went the way it needed to  Tongue

However one very interesting phenomena i have discovered about the spiritual path; There is just as much significance in loosing things and people as there is in finding them. Through loosing we often have a chance of having new awareness and may discover new ideas and people enter our lives. Recently Art spoke to me about this. Had things turned out the way we might have thought best for us our lives would not be exposed to many other very different ideas and people. i most likely would not have had a chance to meet, for instance, Art if it had not been for a couple of, what seemed to be, unfortunate events in his life. We can never really determine if things have gone our way until all events are all played out. We may find that those things that came with little or no resistance, or the path of least resistance was not in the long run what we needed the most. The wonderful point about the spiritual path is that: "I'd say everything went the way it needed to" ~ Art

I'd think at that point you wouldn't feel so much betrayed anymore.

glad you're able to move forward with such a positive perspective.

i cannot speak for Art... for me though..its not so much betrayal... but the longer people stay away the more you realize how little they really cared.... especially if u tried to contact them. It becomes easier and easier to move forward once u realize what u r really dealing with and that there r much kinder people around who r there for u. Unless u like being a martyr... u can help people but where ever they go ...some people bring their own pain to others. It's a sickness i can do without.

U have to b a spiritual doctor to help such people. We have to recognize our own limitations in what we can do if we do not we can catch the dis-ease ourselves. Our only remedy is to take strong 'pain-killers' and refrain from further contact or remain at arms length from catching the dis-ease. Until someone has overcome their own pain they will continue to inflict it on others. What u see in such people is a pattern of delays followed by taking the path of least resistance... leaving their past in shambles.

"There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit.

"Such bad luck," they said sympathetically.

"We'll see," the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses.

"How wonderful," the neighbors exclaimed.

"We'll see," replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

"We'll see," answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

"We'll see" said the farmer."

Really liked your 🚶 story art. Life is that way. It is very difficult to know the end results of any amount of given events. Life's a dance 💃 u learn as u go.

When one door closes another opens

As I've heard hippies used to say, "feelings aren't facts"

Even if betrayal of an agreement or trust happens in a relationship, what can we do but let go and move forward?  Sometimes, it is just out of our hands, and Surrender is the only way to Peace...

Here's two more things that you might like aya:

"Everyone is doing the best they can" - one of the most popular beliefs of the most successful people according to Tony Robbins

"What others do to me is their karma.  How I respond is my karma"

And things are never quite as they seem anyway (see the Taoist parable I posted above)

One door closes, another opens...  then that door closes, and another opens... then...

Life is Change
