Recently mccoy brought to our attention the idea of 13 zodiacal signs. What interested me possibly more then the 13th sign-some regard as important- is the number 13 itself. There are 13 lunar cycles. The meaning for 13; Apostasy, depravity and rebellion. There were originally 13 American colonies who in fact did rebel.

13 belongs to a very restricted family with only 2 other brothers (from the wiki voice):

A Wilson prime, named after English mathematician John Wilson, is a prime number p such that p2 divides (p − 1)! + 1, where "!" denotes the factorial function; compare this with Wilson's theorem, which states that every prime p divides (p − 1)! + 1.

The only known Wilson primes are 5, 13, and 563

Zoroastrians do not love 13

The number 13 had been considered sinister and wicked in ancient Iranian (Persian) civilization and Zoroastrianism. Since beginning of the Nourooz tradition, the 13th day of each new Iranian year is called Sizdah Be-dar, and this tradition is still alive among Iranian people both within Iran and abroad. Since Sizdah Be-dar is the 13th day of the year, it is considered a day when evil's power might cause difficulties for people. Therefore, people leave urban areas for one day and camp in the countryside. Even in the current post-1979 Revolution era, and despite the wishes of Islamic government, this tradition continues to be practiced by the majority of the population throughout Iran.

a customer looking to buy a car scanned the VIN of each car she was interested in making sure the number 4 was no where on the vehicle.

in her culture the number 4 represents death and is a bad omen.

number 4 is also a balancing number and can be associated with angels...

supposedly my lucky number 8

some people are afraid of the numbers 666.....

we can make meaning out of anything and sometimes even spirit will play along
