Title: Moments of Idleness
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on May 06, 2021 12:28 am
Ever felt like you didn’t want to do anything and wondered why? Maybe it isn’t such a bad thing after all. Instead of looking for distractions to fill the moments of so called laziness maybe it is because you have trained yourself to explore the moments alone and just be for a change without having to do something. So sit and meditate and watch where your thoughts and moods take you as you attempt to hold on to the present moment without the distractions of intrusive thoughts and perceptions. In life we are so busy doing things that we forget and are not able to turn everything off and just be. It may be a time to relax and unwind. Explore the moment, be grateful for the chance to do so. Really all the things we do are not adding up to so much anyhow...when it’s all said and done we will leave this place and must let go of everything we did here anyhow.

This is very nice Steve, thank you my friend.

All day today I wanted to do nothing, but I am happy I am able to do so now.

Yea I’m not making excuses for being idle and lazy. I really believe that routine practices become habit and when they are ignored sometimes they come to the surface to give us helpful reminders and spaces we need. Otherwise we can become motor minds running constantly at the mouth and squacking in the head useless restless energy. The world has a way of winding us up like a top. If we don’t give ourselves some time for peace we can unwind uncontrollably.

We have both dug some good grooves of permanent habits even in friendship! It also has helped me and encouraged me to live with a friend that meditates every night!

You’re  always welcome here in winter, water wonderland. We could do a lot of exploring hiking, meditation and swimming.
