swami v has said we have to balance the anxiety which is fear and need for entertainment. to live with ourselves and within ourselves. to double up our moral courage and that this is a great opportunity for introspection and a leap for seekers to practice their faith. some notes from todays fellowship...

faith is the conviction god exist. limit sensory input, be selective. the key to balance is solemnity and to use this social distancing as a way to practice good habits- like hygiene, like consuming healthy edibles(which you should do already) but more importantly is at a mental level- we can strengthen our immunities at the thought level. deep slow breathing is one of the most important things, which he said if you can feel deep breaths at the pelvic floor that you're providing a rejuvenating effect on the lungs. forgiveness doubles up immunity, overcome violence on the thought level and to attune with nature.

earth- connect with earth in whatever way possible- *wet soil or barefoot, contemplate in nature
water- drink clean water and wash skin often
fire- light cooking - not to overcook, sun gazing
air- *slow deep breathing*
ether- access to sublime feelings from the heart

bliss from direct experience with god gives greatest immunity. he nonchalantly explained why the virus might be here but said it's not important because it's veiled in darkness. to see in the dark we need light. to choose to double up on moral courage is the light. our attitude and ourselves is the thing to work on, where to place our energies. he called the social distancing a blessing in disguise. on a deeper level says that dispassion leads to compassion. and he said there is momentum happening now that will be felt ahead but upcoming planetary transitions are to give the one practicing hopeful attitude a boost(strengthening) come april, may and june. still not to wait and to always practice positive affirmations and compassion for all life not just humans.
he also said to live a minimalist lifestyle.

it was an amazing audio session which should be made available on his site soon.

tonights stream was very interesting. swami v is educational. he said something that reminded me of amma... we have an infinite capacity to love... an infinite number of beings.... so amma has her strength to give the many souls that come to her.

he also said suffering is very personal. only you know the levels of your suffering. a family, a spouse- they may be able to relate but to a limit.
somehow in this talk, i understood him to say that each path has its reward- it may lead to the same goal. but because of the personable nature of suffering, things like compassion and love have a wider reaching effect among the community... a much needed expression during these trying times(covid-19).
to share the power of wellness and goodness for all.

the validity of each path reminds me of this poem,
https://youtu.be/H272focq0Cw
"the souls are dancing overcome with ecstasy...
every single atom, happy or miserable...
becomes enamored of the sun which nothing can be said."

some things that might be helpful if you believe you've come in contact with covid-19 and the virus has yet to settle...
HOCL hypochlorus acid
and propolis or bee propolis.

these as mouth wash or nasal spray may have benefits.

something he said in particular,
"compassion is a state of being with freedom from the grip of general dread."

the fear he said has shifted to fear of the unknown, the majority fear is concern over job security at this time.

continue to strengthen your immunity through
physical health and good hygiene, mental health and most importantly moral courage(heart health).
you can be physically healthy but the coritsol build up form fear or dread will override your efforts, this being a lack of moral courage. or you may have mental clarity but lack the means to exercise your understanding. so in this all three are important, but the focus is moral courage... and today lord rama descended a long time ago... so with an amazing lesson on mantra yoga swami v has blessed us with a mantra by lord rama for radiance, light and internal strength of heart.

Thank-You for making this available to us Brother. I will listen to it yet one more time through as I did tonite. If you have something you want  to discuss about this video please let me know. This man appears to have so much wisdom that his thoughts are not just something you hear but rather something you listen to again to digest over time. Especially in light of the interest you take in him. Surprising how his message is so reminiscent of listening to Amma talk about the present times and those to come. Yet he approaches these time frames from Is own unique expression; that of planetary motion and intersection of planets as well as various eclipses and cycles. From the outset he appears to have an ability to see time cycles as Sri Yukteswar did; however he is working with much smaller time cycles then the 24,000 year cycles of Sri Yukteswar. This can help us understand the smaller periods we and our ancestors have gone through and what is to follow us and our immediate descendants.

Amma’s approach is more centered on visualization for world transformation in meditation as well as through grace and service. As in all spiritual Masters of this level it is difficult to understand their state of consciousness or magnitude of genius until throughly contemplated energy is put into their words, energy and presence. Lastly: I see why some of this video may have been directed at my concern over current conditions. This gives me more impetus and willingness to introspect about his words on a personal level as I am sure you do as well. It may be that in one video he does explaining about the meaning of various cycles of specifically Jupiter and Saturn and their relationship to currently unfolding events. While in other videos he places more emphasis on other factors. It is fascinating to see how karma is unfolding simultaneously with planetary events. In the past I have always considered Saturn 🪐 to be the planet most related to challenging events however he also identifies other factors which I hope to understand more clearer with review.

In this video Swami Vidyadhishananda places more emphasis on understanding why these events are happening on a global level. Whereas Amma does not explain the events so clearly in terms of astrology she empathizes the responsibilities of us in creating this karma. Also; our personal responsibility in service and action and what we should be doing about it. So Swami gives meditation the most importance with the knowledge of how the present state of social and biological (pandemic as an example) have resulted in what is before us. Amma also gives meditation great importance with specific techniques. Although I see her also giving us more of a social responsibility as well. Swami includes the use of present technologies (specifically 5G) in creating some of our problems today. Amma places more concern on other factors as in raping our forests and overburdening Mother Earth and the necessity to have restrictions in personal freedom that has become license to create most of humanities actions and there results.

You may wonder why I am taking a departure from the video to make distinctions between two Masters both speaking with the same truth. Since they are both Masters it appears to me that both speak the truth however with different language expressions and approaches to personal as well as global karma that we have created for ourselves. I see more of an expression of Kali In Amma’s talks and more of  Vishnu in Swamis expression. If you want me to explain those different expressions of the Lord I will. I think there are important distinctions which may have led to some of our various differences in approach Brother Eric. Sometimes differences of approach can represent social upheavals and even wars as seen by the actions of Abraham Lincoln and his approach to the individual approach of the confederacy. Lincoln had more of a collective approach and felt that we all should go in a similar direction. While slavery would most likely have been abolished anyhow, he thought it more important to force the issue. Given the current atmosphere of our nation on bigotry and white supremacy after some one hundred and fifty years his immediate concern seemed appropriate.

i'm glad you liked it. i figured you'd pick up on it with your interest in astrology and vendanta philosophy. it was interesting to me how he linked the cakra system to the stars as a micro and macro comparison. i am fond of this expression, 'make patience your father and forgiveness your mother.' yeah man, what are the differences between kali and vishnu?

What I find interesting is Swami Vidyadhishananda has said that todays capitalistic environment is too much, yet he has not supported socialist or communist ideals. He suggested in the video you've watched that by the year 2034 our way of life will be reformed but that we'd still be a capitalist society.

i'm glad you liked it. i figured you'd pick up on it with your interest in astrology and vendanta philosophy. it was interesting to me how he linked the cakra system to the stars as a micro and macro comparison. i am fond of this expression, 'make patience your father and forgiveness your mother.' yeah man, what are the differences between kali and vishnu?

I do not recall him making any references to political parties Eric. But this is my first listening I may have missed parts...it is a long video and requires either a second hearing or attentive listening, which I have not devoted to it YET.  I’ll listen again and comment more. Would that be O.K.?

What interests me a lot is that there are different expressions and aspects of God’s saints and Masters. Kali is the destroyer and disciplinarian part of divine expression. Vishnu is the protector and preserver. In a sense on these social issues, Amma embodies the Kali version of the Lords expression. Emphasizing the responsibility we have in creating present circumstances and disciplines us by showing us what we should do practically in eradicating the karma we have created and continue to create environmentally. Swami V also does not ignore these issues however takes more the prospective of looking at it as a passing event that  another generation will be more propelled to take action on these issues since we have not done so sufficiently. This appears to me more of a Vishnu expression of preservation. His role is to protect humans and to restore order to the world.

While Amma suggests practical advice on how we can absolve ourself of the karma of being born into this period in history... Swami V gives us more of a model of behavior and conscious awareness of just how much the the frenetic activity of the mind can affect our spiritual awareness if we are not careful. How much modern communications can disrupt for instance: meditation.

swami vidyadhishananda has said the thing to do during these times is to practice fortitude as a spiritual practice on the family level. the momentum and the collective karma is such that real reform won't be seen until 2034. between now and then we can expect at least one more major movement in consciousness. the prediction is 2025-2026... by 2029 things will calm as the younger generation will have more compassion than what the current generation is currently able to demonstrate. while we endure the transitions, time and time again we will be faced with the decision to respond to life with love or hate. the best medicine is nature, to disconnect from the fear-peddled news. i do believe these times are allowing people to embrace their individual responsibility more, take the desired paths for how they choose to live their life. freedom will be found in the connections with those closest to them. the potential is there at least. lastly, i'd like to add that there were other masters and monks who have in the past accurately described the times we are faced with today. some of the things to note that stood out to me, communication with extraterrestrials will be common place. there will be a movement from systems to consciousness. population will be decreased. despite the chaos, find peace and glide these waters. swami has also said it isn't enough to be earnest, these times require dutiful action. so let your expression be your service for those in your immediate life. you will find the joy in these moments. i sincerely believe there is a heavenly response, cosmic rays of energy that effects us all, it is transcendent and very positive in nature. :)

Really? Would like to meet him someday. But he doesn’t seem to come to this area. Wonder if I would think he means some things that you have expressed over the years, and ascribed to his views. Im not sure I would friend. Haven’t heard him say some of the things you’ve told me. Nothing against you. I just think your views shape what you hear as well. Maybe we all do that to some extent. Just an observation.

Hi Steve, considering your reply I'd say you're right- our views shape what we see or hear. It's all too easy to do on a forum reading another's words- we don't really know the man or woman behind the screen. Writing is a craft and not necessarily a good judge of character.

If you're interested you can register for this upcoming event for free. I believe mindfulness is a liberating quality and would enjoy reading what stood out to you since you've found something disagreeable by reading things that once stood out to me.

I've met Swami in person more than once, have received personal console in time of distress and would be fortunate to attend this upcoming event. Swami helped solidify my views, I am often citing his verbiage when discussing the current age we find ourselves in. Though this reply isn't to debate what you disagree with. This reply is an invitation.

Here you have the opportunity for a uniquely positive experience. I would consider it a blessing that you do attend and pick up on something different from me.

Here's to hoping we both make it and share our notes after! That would be exciting.

Wishing you well.

I believe there's a week left to listen. Fast forward to 26:30, that's the minute marker Swami Vidyadhishananda appears and starts to talk.

"If one is able to participate with the presence of mind through spontaneity without any anxiety then that aware state is mindful."

"Knowledge with care, handled with a presence of mind is to be deemed mindfulness."

"If aware state belongs to mindfulness, alert state belongs to meditation- absorbed state belongs to concentration. The result of meditation is absorption. This is a simple outline of what is mindfulness. In other words, through presence of mind the content within the awareness is observed carefully as being present with it."

"If we are considering mindfulness to be just a restricted attention moment... then we are restricting the definition of mindfulness and we are falling into the trap of calling mind transitory or momentary. That is not the case. " ~Swami Vidyadhishananda.

Title: Can Freewill Overcome Chance and Destiny? Sri Krishna-Janmashtami Livestream |
Post by: guest587 on Aug 31, 2023 03:11 pm
What you will learn
His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda will expand on the conceptual framework that defines destiny and cause of action. He will establish that with the correct application of freewill, it is possible to overcome the grip of destiny.

His discourse will shed light on the fact that all our actions are caused by our inner tendencies as well as external factors that are independent of our inner tendencies. Both of these factors bear their respective consequences.

In order to highlight the philosophical thesis defining the consequence of action, His Holiness will introduce a pyramid whose four base points are time (kāla), nature (innate attributes), destiny, and chance (saṃgati); and the apex claimed by freewill that has the power to supersede all aspects of destiny.

Every action is then determined by time, nature, destiny, chance, and freewill, and their interplay. His Holiness will explain the five aspects of this pyramid with examples and share how fate versus destiny play out in the context of doctrine of karma.

He will address the role of determined voluntary action and if this is in the realm of freewill? Voluntary action needs to be effected mindfully to obtain aspired results. For example, if higher yoga or meditation is practiced voluntarily and diligently, the practitioner may attain liberation even in a single lifetime.
