The red or the yellow variety?

Red. Hope to hear feedback. Thanks. I do not see yellow ones in this area. Do you?

Avia's Response to
"Ladybug Love Symbolism"

Hello Mike,

Firstly, I want to recognize (and commend) your level of sensitivity. It takes a special soul to pick up on the subtle cues and messages of Nature, especially from the tiniest insect realms.

There is an ancient Chinese legend that links the ladybug with love. The story goes that when a ladybug comes to call, it is a sign that true love will also pay us a visit. Further renditions of the legend state the number of spots on the ladybug indicate the amount of months that will pass until we are united with our true love.

I love myth and legends, but I don't subscribe to hanging all of our hopes on them.

Rather, I look within (the soul, heart, mind, etc) and see how my inner impulses relate to the symbolic phenomenon occurring in my life (such as a visitation from a ladybug).

I also love the presence of color in nature, and often link chakra meanings (chakras are energy centers in the body and presented to us by ancient Hindu wisdom) to colors that come to me in visitations.

For example, the ladybug (to me) is a symbol of passion, ardor, adoration, amorousness because of its color, red. According to chakra wisdom, red is associated with the Muladhara charka (the root chakra) which deals with passion, desire, primal urge and even sex. There are other subtle layers to this chakra and its color, but it always triggers the feeling of a passionate fire kindling within me.

Hence, when a ladybug comes to call, I always sense its a message of connecting with my passion, connecting with a love that ignites my whole being. Very auspicious, and a very positive connection.

Does this mean the ladybug is a symbol of you united with your friend in a love relationship?

Rather than go there, I want to say the ladybug in your case is absolutely a message of love. I also want to say that love comes in countless forms. Your ladybug could be a reminder to you to keep your heart open, and remain in a loving state in order to connect with your true love (whether that be your friend, some other lucky person equally suited for you at this time, or even a love for work, hobby or reconnecting with family).

The details of your ladybug message will be left up to you to work out. But I can confirm the ladybug as an auspicious (positive) messenger of love.

Furthermore, I'm convinced the ladybug would not have come to you if you were not emitting an energy of love to begin with (they sense our energy levels, and are attracted to that "red" kind of vibe).

So...keep your heart in a loving state, and in response to that state, know that love shall always fly to you and land within your heart.

Hope this helps you Mike.

Brightly,
Avia

The ladybug.

Adorable, right? The cheery, apple-red carapace garnished with but a few, large black dots; as if a tiny pixie had painted them on, and the paintbrush tip was just too big to fit more than a few dots on. This, combined with its bumbling walk along the flowers, and its round, squat body evokes imagery of a kindred Russian grandmother, tending her garden in her brightly-colored babushka. If you are fortunate enough to get one to crawl on your hand or finger, its tiny legs tickle your skin and it eventually pops open its carapace (made of modified wings called “elytra”), and silently takes off as an itty-bitty summertime jewel of cuteness and sunshine and sparkles (and it’s supposed to be good luck! awww). Definitely adorable. Right?

Wrong.

Ladybugs (also known as “ladybirds” outside of North America, as well as “ladyclocks”, “lady cows”, and “Xena flys”) are voracious predators in their raised-bed ecosystem. Ladybugs, from the cradle to the grave, feed upon many different types of insects (many of them important crop pests, so yay), but most commonly on things like aphids. Ladybugs are built to seek-and-destroy aphids. Imagine a giant, armored tank, bearing down on you at stupid speeds, and you’re a squishy, slow, small, green thing…and you have an idea of what it’s like to be an aphid caught in the crosshairs of a hungry ladybug. Did I mention the tank’s front is equipped with more razor-sharp blades than an industrial agricultural combine? That cute little ladybug face hides a generous amount of sharp, curved mandibles that are designed by natural selection to pop an aphid’s body like a Screamin’ Green Apple-flavored Fruit Gusher. A single, adult ladybug can consume more than 1000 aphids in one day during the growing season. Seeing as how ladybugs can live up to about two years, that comes to roughly 360,000 aphid lives in the lifetime of a single ladybug, which is more than the metro population of the city I live in, Eugene, Oregon.

Not sure about those ladybugs. But they seem helpful to humans. They eat aphids which destroy crops. Perhaps they are a helpful protector from the views and impositions of others. They may remind us that we too have valid ideas and lives. Thanks for the info Eric!

After experrincing a bout of anxiety the other night- the next day I noticedd a lady bug on my shirt while sitting inside my car and think the two are connected. It felt very auspicious and I think was a spirit. It was calming but bold. I cracked the window and he flew right to it and rested there a moment longer like, are you seeing me? I was certain this may have been a message from Hazarat Inayat Khan(whom I was studying the night before and reading his thoughts on death). I only learned of the word Sufi in a dream which also had a lady bug in it. The ladybug for me is divine presence, spirit communication/messenger  and a reflection or feeling... maybe a heightened expression of love/truth.

The Lady Bug manifest itself on my car today. When this happened I was releasing my sorrows to God and feeling at the same time, so much Joy. I believe the guiding Spirit is all-ways Present and this is the one in many forms come to provide relief from recent turbulence. My consciousness is not yet rooted in even mindedness, true yoga. I hope now that same relief can be given to the ones I've shared my drama with.

the first, spiritual insect totem i've felt a strange pull of emotion to is the black butterfly.
the other day in meditation, a pure black ladybug crawled by my feet.
when i see a black butterfly i am filled with awe, a sense of connection...
when i reflect on the black ladybug i feel a connection to my sufi dream, which makes me think something at the mystic level is happening. i don't know if it's initiation or, the end of something... but if it is the end of something it is most certainly the start of something. a chapter in spiritual evolution. i think this is a type of communication from spirit.

Ladybug Meaning, and Messages
The appearance of Ladybug symbolism heralds a time of good luck. Moreover, it means that wishes and dreams are coming to fruition. Higher goals and new heights are now possible. In other words, worries begin to dissipate and new happiness comes about. This spirit animal also cautions not to try to hard or go to fast to fulfill our dreams. Let things flow at their natural pace. In due course of time, our wishes will all come true.

Similar to the Angelfish, the Ladybug meaning could be signaling that you can leave your worries behind and that new happiness is on its way. In other words, this species of beetle is a signal that you must live your truth. Protect your truth and know that it is yours to honor.

Totem, Spirit Animal
Similar to the Armadillo, people with the Ladybug totem are most likely to be a loyal but vivacious and exciting companion. They are continually delving into the mysteries of the Universe and the unknown. These folks are also naturally highly spiritual and curious by nature. Therefore, they are rarely satisfied with mundane explanations or dull companions. For the most part, people with the Ladybug totem are open-minded and enjoy having their consciousness expanded. Thus, they tend to bring joy to those around them. People enjoy being around them. They are trusting, happy, and carefree.

The Ladybug symbolism is actually a beautiful creature with good qualities that humans should emulate. The presence of the ladybug in your life indicates that you are strong enough to handle any kind of change. Also, being able to disagree with others is a step forward. Like humans, Ladybug is very calm and relaxed around them. They are also known to have a calm and relaxing nature.

Ladybug Encounters and Omens
Ladybug totem brings the value of being real in your life. Some of these elements are associated with its spirit guide, which can be used to symbolize the animal. Some of these include turning people into ladybugs’ behavioral activities.
The ancient Greeks believed that the ladybug was to direct humans on how to safely interact with them. The ladybug is also a spirit animal. If you have ever felt connected to a totem animal, then you know how special it is. People who believe that they have the ladybug as their totem animal tend to be very relaxed and do not act like relentless animals. They can also be very imaginative and have a great sense of humor.

I've had my opportunity to share the ladybug with LaurenLoo over the course of years and it turns out there is indeed a connection.

As there is in recognizing the ladybug a divine symbol, the Sufi message... And so I have a lot to empty out and a role to step into. Total peace will come when the task at hand are fulfilled.

Ladybug Symbolism & Meaning

Ladybug, Ladybug fly away home… Wait! Don’t recite that old saying so quickly without knowing the meaning and symbolism behind this little creature. When a Ladybug lands on you, folk tradition says luck and love are heading your way, along with wish fulfillment and renewed joy. Sit down with Ladybug and see what she has to say. When she leaves the conversation, see in what direction she flies. That is the direction from which change will come.

There is something light-hearted about Ladybug Spirit that reconnects us with our inner child. This part of Self remembers the wonder of little things, how to play wistfully and count the dots on the back of the Ladybug (the more dots, the greater the serendipity!). This aspect of Ladybug is perhaps the most vital to humankind in a world where too many things are filled with fear and anger. Renew Ladybug energy in yourself and dispel that negativity.

In nature, Ladybug is part of the beetle family, and they seem to live in every imaginable setting. The shell of this insect protects Her, while Her legs “feel” energy from whatever they touch, including you! Ladybug’s color warns off predators without having to say a word, which is good considering their small size and gentle nature: As such, Ladybug symbolism embraces safety, awareness, and fearlessness.

In the Middle Ages, Ladybug bore the name “Beetle of our Lady” (referring to Mary). Lightworkers tell us this translates to the Mother Goddess and reconnecting with the Sacred Feminine. Consider: is Ladybug Medicine calling you back to daily devotions that put you in deeper touch with the Goddess’ energy?

Various cultures trust Ladybug’s ability to foretell the future. In Slavic regions, they ask Ladybug all manner of fateful questions, often about the direction from which something (or someone) will come. Meanwhile, in Norway, should you and your date see a Ladybug simultaneously, you are destined for romance.

Other beliefs about Ladybugs include the following:

She can fly away with sickness after landing on you.
Ladybug in the home means you will soon find some money.
Ladybugs in England foretell good weather.
In Switzerland stories of Ladybug liken her to the stork delivering children.
The appearance of Ladybug is a blessing to farmers preceding a good crop.
Killing a Ladybug brings ill fortune or bad weather.
The bright red color of Ladybug represents passion.
Ladybug is a world traveler scattered around the world. There are over 6,000 species of this bug. If any Animal Helper understands diversity, it’s Her.

In nature, Ladybug is quite the showman. If she sees a predator, she plays dead. Hopefully, the creature moved past, thanks to a little trickery. This is a gift from Ladybug. When you know a person is a bully, go into a safe retreat mode. You are probably the defender sort, always standing up for the “little guy,” but sometimes you must set personal boundaries, put up your wards, and protect yourself.

Have you been ignoring your talents of late? Putting them on the sideline for a “better time?” Guess what? Ladybug counsels that now is the right time. You must nurture your abilities, so they become precise tools in your magical kit.

The Ladybug Animal Ally is highly attuned to nature’s cycles. Come winter, She seeks out logs, holes, and leaves where she can pass the winter while in hibernation. It is wise to rest, to take meaningful pauses in which to regenerate your soul.

It’s worth noting you may not see an actual Ladybug. Instead, She might appear in art, on TV, a decoration on someone’s coat, etc. The more often you see Her, the more She’s trying to get your attention. Ladybug believes in a head-on approach.

Ladybug Spirit Animal
ladybug spirit animal 1200x630

Ladybugs appearing in your life precede a time when your goals begin manifesting in remarkable ways. Bits of good fortune trickle around like petals on warm winds. Stop and enjoy this moment. Don’t rush too quickly into anything, but instead, let nature unfold like Ladybug’s wings.

There is no need to worry or fret – live and honor your sacred truths.

A Ladybug Spirit animal may also arrive at the advent of a new relationship or the renewal of one that had grown a tad stale. Ladybug whispers words of love in your partner’s ears. Remember that sweet voice and translate it into pillow talk as the relationship sparks.

Alternatively, Ladybug may tell you that love is just around the corner. If you see Her, count her spots to know the days, weeks, or months before it arrives. Keep an open mind!

While tiny in stature, the Ladybug Spirit Animal has some larger meaning in your life. They often appear when you step into the role of a healer or helper. The presence of a Ladybug acts as reassurance. You made the right call, and the difference you’ll make in the lives of others is appreciable. You have the ability to assess situations and come up with actionable ideas for positive breakthroughs.

As you help others, you unknowingly help yourself evolve. Ladybug Spirit Animal reminds you of your gifts and stresses using them to become the best version of yourself. Revel in your sense of knowingness and the energy it brings.

Ladybug Totem Animal
ladybug totem animal 1200x630

Those lucky folks born with a Ladybug Totem are a lot of fun to be around. You exude lively, curious vibes and always have fascinating ways of explaining odd happenstances. You are the joy bringer – those who instill trust in others. Ladybug people cannot stand dull “small talk.” They will always seek out others with inventive, keen minds. In social settings, their motto is: “If it’s not interesting, I am out of here” (and off they fly).

The friends and family of Ladybug people are truly blessed. You will always be there in times of need, not only offering aid but lifting everyone’s Spirits with your positive outlook. Your Birth Totem materializes in your deep sense of loyalty.

However, you do not give your trust quickly or easily. You prefer building long-term connections, so the time it takes to find just the right individuals for your circle is well worth it. Should someone break your trust, it will be incredibly hard, if not impossible, to win it back.

A Ladybug Totem brings good fortune to the bearer and a passion for seeing love in the world around you. You are the penultimate matchmaker, and your skills are intuitive. Those Ladybug born try to set people up who you know need a special connection and are ready to be a little more vulnerable. And you don’t disappear as the relationship grows. For you, matters of the heart are a sacred responsibility, and you’re going to see things through.

Ladybug Power Animal
ladybug power animal 1200x630

Seek out your inner Ladybug when working Wish Magic. Whisper your desires to Ladybug Spirit and glide on Her wings, taking it to the four corners of creation. Light Workers also recommend Ladybug mojo for times when your luck seems sour. Invoking Her energies brings sweetness back to life in the way of a charming surprise.

When you know a battle is coming, communing with your Ladybug Power Animal is great support. While delicate, Lady Bug is a fearsome predator of aphids. They crave pests and are more than happy to get rid of the issue. Where are your pests conspiring?

If there is a situation regarding emotions, Ladybug Power Animal is happy to answer from your inner self. For others, you discern answers at the crux of relationship stressors. Also, when your heart hurts, seek out Lady Bug as a healer.

Ladybug Spiritual Meaning
There are several common meanings and symbols for Ladybugs appearing globally. She stands for wholeness, safety, dignity, love, spiritual exploration, and improved fate. So meditate on Ladybug for assistance with any (or all) of these goals.

One thing many people do not know is that Ladybugs aren’t all red! So, it’s possible to discern more significance by looking at several species. The red Ladybug is the one who seems to steel the limelight. She is the maestro of love and romance. For single people seeking relationships, the red Ladybug instructs to keep your eyes peeled. You will find love in the most unexpected of places.

For the spiritual seeker, orange Ladybugs represent inspiration and “food” for your inner self. It’s time to pursue new dynamics in your beliefs. An opportunity presents itself. Take it!

A yellow Ladybug’s appearance portends a totally surprising moment. Pay attention. What’s happening leads to new beginnings for you, ones for which you’ve craved.

Like the quiet of the night, the black Ladybug signals a time for introspection and self-awareness. She is the facilitator of self-growth and, more importantly, self-love, something many people lack.

The albino (white) Ladybug is an emblem of peace, within and without. Where conflict stirs, it’s time to find a tranquil resolution for everyone’s benefit. Have faith in your natural abilities.

Blue Ladybug flies on the wings of wisdom. She stresses work-home balance so essential to happiness. Remaining mindful of how you expend your energy will give you a greater sense of control and stability.

The undercover Ladybug is brown. She knows how to use her surroundings for camouflage. Encountering one may be a signal to lay low for a while. There’s no need to get in the middle of someone else’s drama. Either watch in silence, or walk away and take your attention to a better place.

Encountering a pink Ladybug is a sign that one of your friendships is about to deepen. Alternatively, you may meet a person who will become a fast friend. Your Animal Ally has a feminine nature, offering nurturing and gentle kindness.

Sighting a grey Ladybug comes with a one-phrase message: keep it simple! Do not overcomplicate matters. Use awareness and discernment to pick your battles

Eric it is unusual for a lady bug to bite. Why do you think 🤔 you immediately thought of your Sufi dream and what role do you have to play? What connection do you find in its meaning with LaurenLoo? It appears that you recently found a zen moment of sorts with this last totem. You have brought us many totems over the years. I am in deep appreciation of your contributions and have always felt an indigenous connection with you from the past. What ‘role’ do you think you have to step into? I agree with you that we all have certain roles to play in life, and at different times different roles that suit our divine destiny, however small it may appear to others or even ourselves. Spirit does have a part for us to play that makes everything possible and operate according to divine plan. As we look at some of the ‘roles’ some people have taken on themselves to play i have found they are so skewed as to appear grotesque; which makes our expression all the more important to counter.

Sometimes you have related that Indian Totems can be interpreted by personal awareness. I think of the shell of the Ladybug and it’s protection from outside influences… the ability and need at sometimes to walk it alone. Since ‘your lady bug’ had no spots perhaps 🤔 you are reflecting your image more clearly to others as their mirror?

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure what it meant. I probably thought of my Sufi dream because it was a spiritual dream and the ladybug has always served as a Divine Messenger in my life. LaurenLoo is a friend, we tried a romantic relationship and it was not for either of us. But we share strong spiritual connections. I think it's because she allows her intuition to guide her.

Separately, I can tell you we play many roles and it's probably a good thing we aren't aware of all of them. Not every role is one we'd expect or hope to play, but we end up playing any way and it has nothing to do with the truth of who we are as much as it has to do with helping others learn a thing or two about themselves. I've seen it, both in vilification and praise. It's probably why the Masters advise us not to be attached to either.

Thanks for sharing the colors, the ladybug was yellow. And thanks for adding your thoughts! I appreciate your interest.

It's nice coming back here, instead of wallowing in political opinions and worldly drama. I find the spiritual portals real benefit, has nothing to do with what I or others think they know about political figures- but everything to do with one's spiritual journey. That all of my discoveries have been archived here since 2010, are mind blowing. Again, I don't come back to spiritual portal to read post about Donald Trump(nor have I ever benefited from doing so)... But I find that post I've made in relation to my soul longing and personal evolution have guided me and at times I can come back and re-discover or remember what's most important.

So, maybe I'm selfish. But I'm going to keep posting these little struggles, dreams, longings and discoveries... Because they've really helped me. Tonight I've resurfaced my deep desire to know the Peacock Angel, and rekindle a past life karmic connection. A reuniting of my Soul.

I found this post...
I just want to add I have always had an unexplored but strong interest in fallen angels. I don't know why, but growing up, I felt a part of that history with me. This was relayed to me in dreams and intuitive impressions. I have felt ideas, possibly shared by an unseen intelligence, of an abyss and separation. It is a very lonely feeling, being disconnected. I have taken an alias "tides2dust" which is both romantic and haunting in its expression- associated with my fear of dissolution and more, my joy of rebirth and merging with eternity. All of these concepts are somehow linked to the Peacock Angel.

Especially unique... Because just Friday I had a government worker ask me about my alias. He had a serious inquiry as to the meaning of tides2dust. That's my email address for everything. And I saw that sincere moment as an opportunity.

What I did not share was Thursday night, I had a dream about meeting my tax guy. We will call him D for short. In the dream, D was helping me acquire new insurance in order to save me some money. The dream felt like purgatory, because I was waiting around all day and dealing with people on the phone who were being intentionally difficult.

Well. I think sometimes we burn off a little karma in the dream world too. How so... ? ? ?

The next morning I was scheduled to meet D in order to file taxes. I wasn't expecting anything, and hoping my dream of taxes taking all day would be just a dream and nothing to worry about. I arrived earlier than my appointment time, which worked in my benefit. D had nothing going on and had me sit in front of him right away. I thought I had everything but it turns out I forgot an important form since I'm supplementing health insurance. Through some quick thinking and suggestion by D, I thought to look on my health insurance app. Well, the message there said the form wouldn't be made available until February. Great... So my dream of taxes taking all day have come to life. Now this process, which could have been knocked out here in D's office- would extend into the next month. D looked on me sympathetically knowing it takes me an hour to drive to him. He told me not to worry, now days I can give him consent to finish everything electronically. Awesome...

So, on the ride home I had the idea to call the market place. Even though my account with the market place was de-activated, I was able to get a hold of someone after a 7 minute wait time. As we were talking, I had another idea hit me- something told me to pull over because the next set of instructions coming from this man would require my full attention(I was previously driving down the highway with the man on bluetooth). I pulled off the next exit, perfect timing, was being guided with a step by step process after the man remotely re-activated my account. I'm not even sure he had a clue I was doing all this from my cellphone in the car. That's when he asked me about the meaning of my alias. I was a bit shy to get into it all, I've never had anyone ask me so bluntly. So I told him it was a play on words, and that the general meaning is meant to invoke something special in whoever reads it.

Well... By the grace of God everything was resolved. And it turns out, pulling over where I did helped me avoid major traffic. Had I not pulled over, that could have been a disaster.

Looking back on all of this- my dream of a purgatory like waiting room which was similar to the scene from the modern film "Beetle Juice" (being numbered 964,327,183 while they were only just serving number 16) and the intuitive process that came the next day makes me think I paid a little time- burnt a little karma, that good luck happened- but most importantly, that a Living Spirit was guiding Me.

And now, a step further... I am here at the spiritual portal rekindled by a thread titled the Living Spirit- where I find my question(why do I call myself tides2dust?) already answered from previous ruminations(made in the quotes above)... Acknowledging that Same Living God- Guiding Intelligence, Living Spirit- King of the Earth/Peacock Angel...

I had the thought... these post can "come back from the dead"
and just as I said that, I realized my black lady bug is still sitting here on my desk. Though the ladybug is dead... The ladybug is very much alive. I had not moved its husk/shell yet because I am waiting for better weather to gently place my friend in the dirt... Seeing the ladybug, alone, under my lamp light and thinking on all of this... It's placed a swelling of gratitude deep within my Being...
