The Department of Defense on Monday said it is launching a "thorough review" into Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, citing "serious allegations of misconduct."

Meanwhile, Kelly told Kimmel that the president and his administration’s reaction sows fear, calling it an example of “how democracies die.”

“It is right out of the playbook, you know, the playbook of authoritarianism. That's what they do. They try to suppress speech,” Kelly said. “Every one of us has First Amendment speech rights, and I think the president is infringing on those and he is sending, he is sending a pretty strong message. You do not want to cross him, and your loyalty should be to him. It should not. It should always be to the Constitution.”

Some people like Donald Trump ‘have made a career out of bullying others.’

President Trump called for me to be hanged.

I put out a video, alongside veterans of the military and former members of the intelligence community. It had a simple message: If you are serving in the military, you have an obligation to refuse illegal orders.

Trump's friends in the White House didn't like that. They accused us of insurrection.

At some point, the President heard about it, and he accused us of sedition, called for our arrest, and called for us to be hanged.

It is no small thing for the President of the United States to call for your execution. Elon Musk called me a traitor. Trump's advisor, Roger Stone, called for me to be executed. And now Trump himself has called for me to be hanged.

As someone whose family has faced political violence before, I know you have to take words like this seriously, and that's why I'm writing to you.

There's no telling what kind of storm we're heading into right now. Unfortunately, we need to be prepared for any outcome and show we won't be deterred by the threats coming our way from Trump and his Administration as we fight to take back the Senate.
