Title: Quieting the Mind; techniques and the importance of doing so Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Nov 06, 2025 10:51 pm It is very difficult to be introspective and see ourselves as others do without silencing the mind’s activities to some extent. We are products of our own thought processes and our own past experiences. Sometimes the mind is so active, I have to use the Om technique to listen to something other than my own chatter in my head. It is much easier to see this in others then ourselves as they listen to the emotions and thoughts that persist in their attitudes and actions throughout the day. Being attached and confined to our own body, emotions and thoughts, make it much more difficult to look beyond ourselves than it is to watch others who are stuck in their ways and are not willing to change. Although with the tool of meditation we are slowly freed of our own inner struggles and outward actions that confine us to mortal consciousness.
At times we get glimpses of how the Masters think and behave, and some of their states of consciousness. When these events occur we become aware that we function quite usually out of habit and not from the spontaneous awareness of spirit. Imagine the consciousness of for instance Babaji, who is transforming the consciousness of all humanity and particularly those who think of him and ask for his divine grace. His consciousness does not interfere with the unfolding events that are transpiring here on earth but rather in the solitude of his presence alone he is affecting change throughout the planet.
