Florida has become a prison colony with all the right wing politicians….

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has adopted a set of administrative rules with respect to public use of rest areas, welcome centers, truck comfort centers, and wayside parks. Below is a synopsis of these rules…
   •   Camping is prohibited.
   •   Consuming alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
   •   Maximum time limit is ten (10) hours for commercial vehicle operators, and three (3) hours for all other drivers.
   •   You must park in designated parking spaces.
   •   Disturbing, picking, removing plants, flowers, nests, eggs, animal habitats, rocks, et al, is prohibited
   •   Fires must be contained in cooking grills, and be limited to facilities where cooking grills are provided.
   •   Trash be placed in trash receptacles.
   •   Vehicles cannot hook up to rest area electrical or water outlets.

Well, I would say that some of those rule sure sound reasonable. Who would want to see the areas littered, or in fire, or vegetation ruined?

Mccoy if you had been a trucker like me you would see things much differently. You cannot find a place to park in a state like Florida. There are many lay overs; when work is not available and until it is where do you park??? I am not against rules you are speaking of. Those that are reasonable. It is the unreasonable ones I’m speaking of, like driving through a state you cannot rest in a rest area for more than 3 hours.

You need to know the facts friend. I was at a rest area in Michigan last week where a fellow came up to me and told me there were three vehicles parked there all winter. Can you even imagine why? Please have empathy and attempt to friend. It is because their social security is so low - which Elon Musk is attempting to even more severely limit-that they can find no place affordable to live. Imagine-if you even can- living in Michigan all winter 🥶 in at times sun zero temperatures because billionaires like Elon Musk and Donal Trump have lifestyles fit for kings . Can you even fathom this … which I’ve seen and witnessed.. People living under bridges of highways all winter or downtown Grand Rapids because of wealthy politicians now in Washington attempting to cut more social programs for the homeless. And by the way some states devoid of right wing politicians do have fire pits and grills so people can cook a dinner that are unable to afford a house.

It may be all true but I don't think left wing politicians have ever fasted to give their lunch to the homeless.

I would accept your reasoning if it did no distinction between left and right wing politicians.

Yes Steve, a minute of silence! We all concur that Gandhi was an absolute spiritual giant, it has been the good karma of India to have a political saint like him. I'm also told that Nahrinra Modi is a great soul, embedded in the principles of hinduism. I think he has retired though.
