Title: Have you lost your senses? Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Sep 07, 2024 06:23 pm We accept certain things people say as facts. But now when I look at my time spent in Los Angeles in the early days when many of Yogananda’s direct disciples were living; I ‘see’ things differently. Having experienced many miracles myself, it seems much more believable that someone did see Paramahansa Yogananda walking up the sidewalk besides the Lake Shrine on Sunset Blvd. when they told the monks he is not dead to me “I still see he him walk up Sunset Blvd. along the Lake Shrine”, or that someone did see Brother Bhaktananda float on top of the Hollywood Temple. We are enslaved by our senses to the extent that it is difficult to except miracles happen right around us and right before our deluded senses.
We seem to forget that the point of meditation is to get beyond our senses. To withdraw the energy from them and to experience something beyond our mortal body and consciousness. I used to feel hesitant or reluctant to share such stories, but today after experiencing more than 50 years of meditation I feel much more comfortable and natural about such ‘miracles’. Now I understand why these experiences were shared with me. So that when similar experiences happened to me I would not brush them off with disbelief. And; When i hear a friend tell me they ‘see’ a spirit walking in our midst, it may just be that my consciousness is not open to that consciousness if I’m unable to perceive it. We can be skeptical 🤨 but often to the extent of disbelief and a lack of faith. Title: Re: Have you lost your senses? Post by: mccoy on Sep 07, 2024 11:01 pm Steve, these facts are very rare, so when they happen people tend to rationalize and discard them as hallucinations.
For example, I who have always been receptive to the supernatural, only had a couple of experiences that went beyond the laws of physics, in my whole life. Title: Re: Have you lost your senses?
