Title: Re: Become a vegetarian Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Feb 23, 2025 06:53 pm I am a vegetarian. You can tell when someone has eaten meat for a long time… their eyes become glazed and glassy like. And, they lose the sparkle in their eyes. But it isn’t just that, it’s the animal nature they acquire and the bad karma from destroying more and more forests to feed Americans hamburgers. Not to even speak of the evil associated with killing animals, as they are also evolving upward to a human incarnation.
Title: Re: Become a vegetarian Post by: mccoy on Feb 23, 2025 10:42 pm If we consider the health status, according to the specialized literature eating meat in modest amounts does not increase overall mortality. Fish, would seem to decrease overall mortality. I, like Steve, don't eat fish or meat. If we consider a diet for meditation, then it's different but, in my reasoned opinion, in a subtle way. 1) We can reap about 80% of the benefit of meditation and Kriya even eating a little meat. It will not hinder our progress until a certain point. 2) After having reached a certain point of spiritual evolution, then if we want to keep evolving we may need to avoid altogether eating meat and fish. And, if truth must be honored, for some people, like myself, being vegetarian apparently did not help to meditate better, not even in the first stage. My meditation, regardless of diet, has mostly been crappy, unfortunately. |
