Title: The Bible on Slaves Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Mar 29, 2024 12:51 am In 1 Peter 2:18, Saint Peter writes "Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse."
Really? Yes, that’s how out of date it is for the present world we live in. Is the Bible true ? Amma ; “ Some of it.” Title: Re: The Bible on Slaves Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jul 02, 2024 03:42 am What are we to make of the Bible? How do you put it together to make sense of it? Should we have kids respect the Bible? Solomon had over 700 wives and 300 concubines. And there are many other references to polygamy in the Bible. And what of teaching kids respect for Bibles of other religions? Just saying. Not that I disagree but that it’s hard to put things together in the Bible especially the endorsement of slavery. “Slaves be obedient to your human masters, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ.” Ephesians 6:5-8 |
