Total eclipse explained in graphics… What is a solar eclipse?

During the last U.S. total solar eclipse, news site Mic.com cataloged numerous flat Earth objections to the scientific understanding of the eclipse, including the size of the shadow cast. More recently, a YouTube video promoting flat Earth ideas suggested the sun and moon are a similar size. These conspiracy theories are so unlikely as to appear inane…. What is more important… is the significance of the total solar eclipse in parts of the U.S. a subject another important member here has recently brought up in some highlights from    Swami V. - thanks Eric.

But scientists have a comprehensive understanding of how total solar eclipses occur. They happen when three spheres — the sun, moon, and Earth — line up in a specific way in space.

The Soar eclipse is just begining to wane and i have heard many sirens around town. I had an unusually devotional meditation. i am wondering what if anything will happen in the area where the solar eclipse crossed the same area it did in 2017 here in the states. Because someone told me where it crossed two areas in Turkey is where the huge earthquake happened there.

Wonder if you had any particularly unusual events during the solar eclipse here across the states. I went to pay my insurance bill for my car and the man there gave me some special glasses 🤓 to gaze at the sun as it was being covered by the moon 🌚 The sun looked like it was going through the phases of the moon. I then meditated for a while and found my meditation was quite devotional in nature. So I would say, yes the eclipse had had a strong affect on me and circumstances surrounding it.

I only witnessed a partial eclipse and that was pretty weird, the sun in mid morning hazed and definitely looked like it was going to set. Temperature refreshing. I can only imagine what it is like a full eclipse.

Mccoy I was close to the area where it was in its totality. The Sun actually looked somewhat like a crescent 🌙 moon as I have shown here in a pictogram. There were no clouds ⛅️ in the sky in the area I was at the time. That is why, the Sun looked more like a very bright crescent 🌙 moon, glaring over the rest of the Moon; unless you wore protective glasses 🤓, in which case the Sun really did look like a crescent moon since it was covered most the way by the 🌚 moon. I’ll never forget that; the Sun appeared like a crescent moon thru the protective glasses. It was a bit eerie but since I knew what was happening I was more thoughtful 🤔 of just how much this activity would influence meditation. Having the Sun so bright despite its obliquity still made the day quite bright where I was at.

Perhaps I was somewhat influenced by the event that day but I found I had one of the most devotional meditations I have had for quite awhile. I probably will remember it for the rest of my life. And although nothing that I know of took place in the U.S. that was really evident-full - I still am curious about it’s long term effects, since I know that eclipses are known to presage events. Let us see what the near future holds for this country and Mexico-two countries which had a total eclipse for areas in those countries.

It is a gift of Mother Nature to give us such circumstances that highlight our spiritual aspirations!

Steve, do you mean the eclipse influenced the folly? But protests are all around the world, even without an eclipse. And outcomes are various. Peaceful protesters are not always so peaceful and sometimes they step beyond what they are supposed to do, like they occupy university rooms or areas, or prevent speakers from speaking. On the other side, policemen sometimes step over their legal duty. It's an invisible border, with lots of grey areas in there.
I agree though that the eclipse might have exacerbated the moods.

Let us see. Remember eclipses and celestial occurrences for tell events as well as reaffirm their significance as they occur and retrospectively reflect what has happened. The planets Uranus and Mars incite these events, while the Sun an Moon are instrumental in all movements of other planets. Your responses are usually quite analytical and show a rational attitude.

I do think young people are generally speaking more evolved as we ascend in the yugas. Their perspective at times expresses a higher gestalt because of being born in a period even a half a century later then we were. Yet in all cases and time periods there are more spiritual thought patterns expressing by those who consciously attempt to embrace them.

Scientifically speaking, there is no proven cause-effect relationship between the eclypse and the intensity of tornadoes. I wonder about possible mechanisms, but which ones?

Metaphysically speaking, could there be some relationship? I do not know.
