Title: Focus

I would say the most challenging part of meditation is focus; that is keeping the mind on meditation and not wondering.

While I find Kriya very progressive and it hastens evolution with divine protection, I find Amma’s IAM technique easier to focus on.

I find the more calm I am the more I can focus. Restlessness is the enemy of focus and deeper meditation. We’re so fortunate to have active meditation with the IAM techniques of Amma and the energization techniques created by Yogananda to counteract restless activity.

Sometimes we are doing something and we may notice our breath. Usually we are focused on some activity that is able to focus our mind and we are in a quiet environment. At those times it is a good time to sit in a comfortable chair, on the couch or bed and observe our breath more carefully. The in flow and out flow, and watch the spaces in between breaths and finally our mind and attempt to keep is focus on the breath by constantly bringing our focus back to the breath. This is the beginning stages of meditation.
