Title: Sleep and meditation
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Sep 06, 2023 09:42 am
It seems like most nites I’m at odds with my body about being too sleepy 🥱 to meditate. Not sure 🤔 how to deal with it accept to drink some coffee and have at least a short meditation. It seems like there just isn’t time enough in a day to get everything done that we plan. Sometimes I take a shower and meditate in the shower. The water keeps me awake.

Steve,

With all of these addictions to external stimulus- sometimes I meditate before bed just so I *can* fall asleep. I am attempting no electronics 30 minutes before bed, which is a perfect window of meditation.

I participated in a group meditation the other day and the woman fell asleep- but when she woke up, she actually woke up in a hypnogogic state and saw her granddaughter in the astral form.

So... I think feeling tired during a nightly practice is okay- and if you fall asleep, that's okay too. Meditation yields benefits, during and after the practice itself.

Sometimes I just lay on my back and stare at the various movements behind my eyelids and observe the conversation that stems from doing so.

I agree, the shower is a nice place to meditate.

Cheers ~ = )

When in very deep sleep you feel great joy, you have touched superconsciousness, but you are enjoying that state only semiconsciously. When you can bring that state at will, then you are in the real state of superconsciousness. I can enter that supernal transcendence instantly, at any time. It is not imagination. Superconscious bliss is the nature of God; and it is also your true nature as children of God.
