Title: Old Souls
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Oct 26, 2022 11:03 pm
My soul is truly ageless and I have experienced it this life. If someone is inordinately interested in your age it is certain they have no understanding about old souls.

I respectfully disagree with your assessment about others. To say, "if someone is inordinately interested in ones age means they have no understanding about old souls" has not been true with my personal experience. Personally I don't believe "old souls" actually means anything. The phrase old soul is a bit of a misunderstanding if you really think about it. Neither having been born or having ever really died, how can being ageless make you old?
Yogananda once described tapping into something as, "ever-new bliss." Is that the real nature of our Soul?

I think labels will always be to the benefit for SELF and the intimate journey with it.

What you see as a judgement I see as an assessment. I’m fine with that difference Eric.

I was going to quote you, to make a point. But I am realizing there's no point in making a point with you. Instead I've edited my post to try and bring your attention to the topic of old souls should you ever feel inclined to revisit this thread.

I really have no problem returning here brother. Being somewhat of a poet I’m very used to metaphors. Of course the soul doesn’t get young or old. But life itself is not literal. To me it shows a total lack of imagination to use only the literal translation to words. I really have a hard time believing you are that literal my friend. We have an ‘deafness’ when we can’t ‘see beyond the ends of our nose.’

Considering you an old soul is a good thing. People learn and carry with them wisdom from life to life… in this way we have become in a sense old to the things we see some people chase after. But yes of course we as enlightened beings are ageless, beyond time that defines any human being.

I feel so fortunate to be in the presence of so many ‘old souls’ in one lifetime.

I would have to agree; What’s the point in making a point? It all falls on deaf ears. Goes in one ear and out the other. It all falls on deaf ears and as old souls we are ever new bliss …let’s experience it as we meditate!
