Title: Inertia
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Sep 27, 2022 01:06 pm
I find that inertia can make the spiritual life stagnate. If we have too much unrestrained energy we dissipate our spiritual practices and growth but we constantly have to be on the look out for the various factors that leak our spiritual journey with side shows along the way, keeping a balance of activity that still keeps our life still invigorating.

I was a little perplexed where to put this information since several threads deal with this subject but it is one that continues to interest me;

in·er·tia
[iˈnərSHə]
noun
a tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged:
"the problem runs deeper than bureaucratic inertia"
similar:
inactivity
inaction
inertness

physics
a property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force. See also moment of inertia.
"the power required to overcome friction and the inertia of the moving parts"
resistance to change in some other physical property:
"the thermal inertia of the oceans will delay the full rise in temperature for a few decades"

It is my observation that seem to always look for some type of stimulation from an external force to get us motivated.

This is what spiritually is all about … getting out of the quagmire of inertia and applying divine will to all situations.

A stable condition that gets you nowhere.
