Title: clearing chatter Post by: guest88 on Feb 15, 2010 02:07 am it seems through out the course of routine meditation, i later find myself not wanting to take the time out for stillness
even when i am called to meditate- i find a rush of anxiety... is this a part of, peeling layers? i love to meditate and think i must increase my efforts in doing so- but sometimes my mind wants to stray away- filled with unnecessary clutter- i've gotten over it and pushed through- a bit discontent at first, later i can sink in... this bothered me- more so yesterday than today and found that my environment indeed played affect to this... but yesterday- i made a point... which sticks with me today... i don't want to always have to rely on that, "boost" given to us through divine inspiration- there's nothing wrong with this... i just feel there's a certain responsibility i must take as far as- being able to do it on my own- even when i don't want to... odd? so my question is this- for the sake of exchange- and broadening horizons how do you clear the chatter in your mind? sometimes it is easy- others, not... the pull is strong- regardless of direction i am constantly reminded of a saying picked up from a small time job- "aint nothin' to it- but to do it" sure enough- i agree whole heartedly some might say- balance dear abysmal balance- this is true- but also find that i'm not over-exerting myself... i'm still working on making meditation a daily thing- morning/night- or whenever i am called to i would like to say... todays meditation was great! as well as yesterdays! it seems the more i feel impatient but actually try to conquer the anxiety- the more is revealed yesterdays meditation brought tingly hands and ringing in both ears today i felt to tap into some sense of pureness... i felt light and wonderful :) i came across this thought while meditating which helped solidify my choices- and the choices yet to come "meditation brings the change you desire." focus. will. encouragement. push through, on and on- with faith in greater possibilities. faith in change. faith in more Title: Re: clearing chatter Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Feb 15, 2010 02:46 am so my question is this- for the sake of exchange- and broadening horizons for all, how do you clear the chatter in your mind? sometimes it is easy- others not... the pull is strong- regardless of direction i am constantly reminded of a saying i picked up at a small time job- "aint nothin' to it- but to do it" "in the state of wonderment" Re: Help with stilling th mind.... « Reply #9 on: February 13, 2010, 06:35:00 am » Quote Modify Remove Split Topic -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote from: Steve Hydonus on February 12, 2010, 04:27:22 pm Quote from: flying squirrel on February 12, 2010, 09:05:00 am hey ! thanx for the visual now when I try to still the monkey mind from all the endless chatter.... guess what ? Imagine one with such mental control. Emotions, ideas and memories are at his beck and call. If anger comes, he can change the channel. The same with jealousy and greed. He can recall any past event, like reversing a DVD. If he wants ideas, he only need turn to the "idea channel" and a stream of creative ideas will flow forth. No more staring at the blank screen of writer’s block. Total and complete mental control—this is what IAM Meditation offers. Quote from: flying squirrel on February 12, 2010, 09:05:00 am hey ! thanx for the visual so bright one, how do you change channels ? Cool ! Thanx much brother ! Can't get much better than that, very exact this IAM Meditation seems to be, even down to the remote control idea. From Steve: Many people ask these questiond over and over. But until they decide to take the dip and practice the techniques of the Masters how can they get the answers? There are people who have been doing these practices for life times. How can we imagine that we can just come up with some home brew answer in a few days or even a life time? How can we even imagine that are friends have the answers? we need to find those who have the answers and who offer us meditation techniques of liberation and actually follow them. Then we can ask the questions. If there is a school right by and you can learn about certain subjects; where do you go? the School and so it is with medtation and stilling the mind. so again i offer this information from those who know: Help for all those experiencing difficulty with meditation: http://www.yogananda-srf.org/lessons/index.html and/or http://www.iam-meditation.org/ For those interested in Buddhism: http://www.dhamma.org/en/bycountry/na/ Title: Suggestion Post by: flying squirrel on Feb 15, 2010 04:32 am so my question is this- for the sake of exchange- and broadening horizons for all, how do you clear the chatter in your mind? sometimes it is easy- others not... the pull is strong- regardless of direction Quote from: Steve Many people ask these questions over and over. when you sit down to meditate, bring with you paper & pen sit quietly, write down your thoughts, all your thoughts that are in your mind keep writing til there are no more thoughts - til the mind is empty this could take awhile or perhaps if the mind is already partially empty ;D it could be a short time when there are no more thoughts to write down, be sure to tear up the paper with all the thoughts, either before or after the meditation, or they will linger for the next time .... let me know how it goes 8) Title: Re: Suggestion Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Feb 15, 2010 09:50 am so my question is this- for the sake of exchange- and broadening horizons for all, how do you clear the chatter in your mind? sometimes it is easy- others not... the pull is strong- regardless of direction Quote from: Steve Many people ask these questions over and over. As soon as one is thrown into life events that create turmoil the chatter resumes 10 fold. It takes a Christ to walk the line to crucifixtion and betrayal in a calm spirit. There is no one method or two or three methods. i hesitate to put stickys endorsing our particular line of remedies. They are heated and have a gas in them that makes them rise. They want to go up in the air and rise to heights. But as long as there are stakes in the ground holding it down by ropes the balloon is unable to rise. We are much like that in our aspirations: As long as we are tied down by material perceptions and desires, it is hard for us to rise in our spiritual aspiriations and to be free from the canstant chatter of material concerns. In this sense it is important to simplify are lives as much as possible and to find techniques of meditation that will help us have spiritual perceptions so that we can get away from all the worldly chatter. Steve totally in agreement about events creating turmoil and chatter going non stop - drives me crazy ! perhaps - do you think, there is a connection there? the events, the turmoil, the chatter = a message hidden somewhere underneath it all ? maybe we need to listen to the chatter, just a little bit, just to see ? understand about the no sticky - what works for one, doesn't always work for another - makes sense Quote Those who have no frustration our self realized since they see harmony in everything and nothing frustrates their intentions. It’s amazing 😉 some of the things we shared. I recently have found that my meditations are split... somewhat like driving. You or I are often on auto pilot with the meditation technique and our mind is going on somewhere else. Meditation can be that way also... like driving and your mind is on a tangent. Like your just going thru the motions of your particular practice on auto pilot while the mind wonders hither and yon.
Title: Re: clearing chatter Post by: guest88 on Jan 16, 2020 04:46 am tonight was especially special. auspicious maybe? a sense of release and reclaim... disenchanting and freeing. true strength. it seems i was grieving, though i had the ability to see by reason and by having a support system early on- the unchecked emotional and physical depravity came later, like a disconnect. lazy, unwanted energy. but tonight, taking a stroll in the dark- refreshing cool winds... i felt a power in the stillness. almost zenith what does this mean...? as the years go by i realize not to rely on the mind but to reach past. though i saw the imagination taking hold of this momentary feeling of absolute, the power is... perfect. every cell, touched by infinite potential, pure stillness. a toe dipped in the water, the ripples cleansing the mind... thank god. <3 |
