Title: Summer Foods
Post by: guest587 on Jul 01, 2022 05:26 am
What are some summer foods you eat to keep healthy? Is it ayurvedic to eat based on the seasons???

Considering that I just dreamt of a blue pineapple, I have been doing research on blue-green algae and pineapples!

Pineapple seems like a very good time to enjoy in the summer with an impressive amount of health benefits!  :)

After reading AoY, we discover Yogananda is no fan of strawberries! I think this is a fun way to look at their health benefits:

In the summer I used to eat lots of watery fruit like watermelons, melons, peaches and so on.

Now my fasting glucose values are increasing so I must moderate carbs. I still eat fresh figs which are growing on a tree in my garden, a few bananas.

Berries are very good.

Summer foods which I find very refreshing are cold and watery dairy products, like lowfat or nonfat yogurt and milk.

One recipe I find particularly refreshing is half cup lowfat milk, half cup nonfat yogurt, one tablespoon erythritol, one tablespoon unprocessed cacao powder, and cinnamon. All fridge-cold.

Thank you for your contributions. What is erythritol?

Bananas are exceptionally fantastic, figs are amazing. I like dates too. All very good for the health.

Thank you for your contributions. What is erythritol?

Erythritol is an edulcorant which is believed to be pretty harmless, together with stevia. They are not metabolized as sugars by the body.
