Title: Gliding

Sometimes I feel so connected spiritually speaking that I want to reconnect with people I have cared about and loved in the past. However I know it doesn’t always work out and can be misunderstood. Some people really hold on to old resentments as well and you may have something said to you that is very unkind. I have had those type of experiences as well so i’m a bit more careful about being uninhibited towards other people.

I believe that some of the feelings associated with the experiences I mentioned above come out of a spiritual understanding that there is and was a purpose for all our encounters with others even though at the time they may appear to be somewhat tragic and sad. This is the dichotomy that often surrounds our relationships with people close to us and who have been close to us. Sometimes heightened emotional and (menopause, menses, orgasm, pain, energy drinks etc.) physical factors can bring on such feelings as in sexual, substance usage and even biological circumstances. I suppose that is one reason alcohol usage are called spirits. These kind of influences can relax the grip we have on our conscious ideas and sometimes help us look beyond our preconceived notions of reality. I think the most important ones to have experienced are those that came as a result of spiritual practice and meditation. I have definitely felt different about my feelings towards others and their behaviors after experiencing enlightening perceptions from service to others, meditation and love.

For instance being in love puts a glow on everything around us for as long as it lasts. Although the dichotomy of this material creation always seems to revisit us and the ‘highs’ we experience level off as we face difficult and disappointing circumstances. Still, while various psychedelic substances have the ability to make us feel ‘out of our minds’ the experiences we have during spiritual practice and specifically meditation are the most remembered awakenings of our life. They are experiences we would wait a life time for because they are life altering and change our attitudes forever.

As I read the above post I feel again what I felt when I ‘channeled’ it. It still makes me feel up and good memories can do this for us.

What I’ve seen in people who have substance abuse problems is often a need to feel and experience the spiritual experiences that come with meditation and soul growth. I just think that most people are too impatient with meditation and spiritual practice. So they resort to artificial means of getting their highs. I’m not here to tell be what they should and shouldn’t do because I myself have had my share of artificial and non productive highs over my lifetime. I think every person has to decide on their own just how much they want to find that lasting expansion of consciousness and spiritual attitude that can deal with stress and anxiety.

To some extent we all choose activities that are diversionary to our true purpose here in this incarnation. Each one of us decides how much we will be ruled by desires and how much we will follow our true purpose and dharma in this physical realm.

There’s a lot of things that catch my interests. I suppose i’m a bit like a bird flying down on some attractive object below. It’s much more easier diving down then flying back up to the heights I once attained. But I just can’t forget what it was like gliding high up in the sky and getting that fantastic view. That’s why I just keep coming back to meditation. I really need that super high that comes with it. Even though it’s goina take some wing motion to get up there and glide again.

And….Being alone a lot gives you one very important gift; Time to practice.
