Title: Remembering the Gurus Inspiration and Example
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Mar 13, 2022 04:10 am
I clearly recall some of the conversations I had with some of the great souls surrounding Paramahansa Yogananda. It is helpful to remind myself in my spiritual sadhana. I’m presently in Michigan in the cold of winter and it is difficult to get out and exercise this time of year. But I clearly recall being around Brother Turiyananda who was a militant disciplinarian for himself. He told me that he often did the energization exercises several times a day. He also invited me to all day meditations with a select few disciples and he told me when he didn’t feel like doing the Kriya’s, because he was tired, he would do them standing up back against the wall, so he wouldn’t fall asleep. If we do not practice some of the inspiration and motivation the Gurus send us how are we to expect further blessings and conditions that are more conducive to the practice of our sadhana and meditation?

So even though it is 12 degrees outside today I’ve been out three times to practice the energization exercises and intend to go back out to practice Amma’s IAM exercises yet tonight. It is also an inspiration for me to see so many SRFers on this site. Thanks for visiting us!
