Title: Environment, times and places Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Feb 15, 2022 02:52 pm At times in our life, we are in conditions that help our spiritual progress, either by location, environment or specific times of year. At other times we may find it challenging to move forward spiritually speaking because of conditions that presently affect us. However it is important to recognize that though environment may not be as encouraging in a spiritual sense; nevertheless we may be blessed to recognize we are in a place, time and conditions that are conducive to facing and working out our desires and which can give us a recognition of what we need to work on to improve ourselves.

When our mental outlook improves the state of the environment will also improve. Title: Re: Environment, times and places Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Nov 20, 2024 02:30 pm I’ve become more and more aware of how environment is shaping our state of consciousness. If we meditate and ask for guidance in our choice of environment and friends, we may suddenly find ourselves in a different environment that is more conducive to spiritual awareness and evolvement.
Title: Re: Environment, times and places Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 02, 2025 08:54 pm I consider myself blessed to live in environments all my adult life that were conducive to meditation. And it appears that I am today as well. It seems to me that just the practice of meditation daily has led me to live near large parks, forests, lakes, the ocean as well as near or in temples, churches, and monasteries.
Although i see billionaires in control of our country today, I find that I feel much more blessed then they are, because I have the good fortune of great gurus in my life who have shown me the importance of being around places where I could meditate for hours with others and places where nature was so wonderful that it helped me calm my body and mind so that I had meaningful meditations and at times exhilarating moments. And even more important I have had the opportunity to be around Masters and saintly people all my life. Maybe their goals are so immense and unaffordable to make them unhappy. I remember an interview with Mr. Musk and Lex Friedman. Mr. Musk at one point said: "You don't want to be in my mind", referring to the constant turmoil of ideas clashing in his mind. This is a man who has no mental peace, I thought. He could never calm his mind and meditate, in the state he is now. He's extremely rich, he's the apotheosis of wealth, but we apparently have a stash of spiritual riches and calmness he cannot think about. Wow that brought tears to my eyes and even a little compassion for Elon Musk. Thanks for the interview information and insights here. 🙏 |
