Title: How different foods influence us Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 03, 2022 07:55 pm Proper foods in the right combination are necessary for the sustenance of the body. They exert also a definite influence upon the mind. The Sattvic or spiritual quality, the Rajasic or active quality and the Tamasic or material quality of the mind are all affected by the food we eat. The activating rajasic quality may dominate or combine with the other two qualities to form different mental tendencies in man: spiritually active, intellectually active or materially active.
Everything we eat produces a sensation on the palate, as well as certain chemical effects on the body and the brain. The sensations created by the food determine a specific mentality. Meat 🥩 eating produces gross material reactions that develop the material or animal mental tendencies, whereas eating raw 🍌 🍎 fruits and vegetables help to reinforce and develop the spiritual qualities. The quality of the food’s, the taste and color is reported to the brain to the nerves of taste and sight and is experienced as specific pleasant or unpleasant sensations. These are elaborated by the mind into perceptions and conceptions. Dwelling mentally on certain conceptions about foods form definite mental habits that manifest as material active or spiritual qualities of thought and behavior. ~Paramahansa Yogananda Title: Re: How different foods influence us Post by: guest88 on Jan 03, 2022 11:05 pm So why is it I sometimes feel more carnal when eating mostly fruits and vegetables? Or maybe sexual energy isn't purely materialistic? I suppose that's a question for a master.
I do agree that food plays a huge role for us and that the journey towards health is very personable and rewarding. I do agree that food plays a huge role for us and that the journey towards health is very personable and rewarding. We are like flowers and are blossoms are opening. We may be fed the right nutrients and they are no doubt helpful. However, if we’re not watered properly we may wilt and if the water is toxic water we might actually die. Although, when we find the right water again we will see that our blossoms start opening more again also. |
