Title: Yoganandaji on friendship Post by: guest66 on Jan 13, 2010 09:51 am Hello, dear friends.
I'm not sure where this comes from, so I'm going to hit Google briefly in a minute, but I was so deeply moved by it that I thought it worthy of sharing: 'Friendship is the purest form of God's love because it is born of the heart's free choice and is not imposed upon us by familial instinct. Ideal friends never part; nothing can sever their fraternal relationship. The treasure of friendship is your richest possession, because it goes with you beyond this life. All true friends you have made you will meet again in the home of the Father, for real love is never lost.' --Paramahansa Yogananda "Real love is never lost"- what a powerful, beautiful sentiment. It was what I needed to hear at this point in time, with a disappearance day anniversary coming up in a few months. Hope somebody else might get some benefit from it, as I have done. Blessings and pranams to each and every one of you, L T L Title: Re: Yoganandaji on friendship Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 13, 2010 02:39 pm (http://www.newyorkcitycenter.org/images/rightnavpics/YoganandaNewYork1926.jpg)
Yogananda in New York City, 1926 “There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first... when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.” -Paramahansa Yogananda Title: Re: Yoganandaji on friendship Post by: blue nova on Jan 13, 2010 08:22 pm When Friendship Becomes Divine, You will Love All "When you love God, you can truly love others. Your perception of souls is pure--like a crystal -clear mirror . Whoever comes before you will be reflected there as he really is. " ~~ Paramahansa Yogananda from his book ..."Journey To Self-Realization...Discovering Gifts of the Soul " Title: Re: Yoganandaji on friendship Post by: guest66 on Jan 13, 2010 08:53 pm Those two quotes are also wonderful! I will have to investigate the book from which yours came, Blue Nova, as I've never heard of it before. (What great joy! A book of Yoganandaji's I have not heard of! :)) Many blessings to you.
---- Steve- that's a beautiful photo. It's like every other one of Him, in that He looks completely at peace, but it's a different kind of peace. I don't know how to explain it, but he looks completely suffused in that peace. Thanks for sharing it. ---- Are there references in Autobiography of a Yogi? If there are, I can't remember them off the top of my head, but I will look it up and see whether he talks in any way about it. (I know Sri Yukteswarji does when he comes back, but as much as I love the quote, this isn't the place for it, not yet, anyway.) :) Title: Re: Yoganandaji on friendship Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 14, 2010 04:23 am ---- Steve- that's a beautiful photo.
