Title: Maha Mudra
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 12, 2021 01:43 pm
I have found that Maha mudra is one of the best exercises/meditation techniques  for me to practice twice a day— 3 times — each time including the left leg stretch, the right leg stretch and both legs stretched. It limbers the spine makes it easier to sit in posture for Kriya and keeps the spine supple so we are able to lean over and pick up things without much strain and feel more flexible but it also is used while practicing Kriya. This is an example… not exactly as taught in the SRF lessons but nevertheless known widely to yogis around the world.

I think the lessons say to actually sit on your foot, but I do it the way in the video, but I still cannot straighten my leg all the way. O well.

I do the standard yoga cat/cow, childs pose, standing forward bend, it all helps.

Dropped the EE exercises a while ago, instead lift weights, walking 3 miles (not in summer), and I need to get back on the bag. These all work better for me, specially weights, a lot more work than the EE.
