Spiritual Portal

I am including this here primarily for those that practice create yoga however there might be others who practice various meditation techniques or also have had this experience. In this paragraph Paramahansa Yogananda describes the first stages of spiritual development in seeing the Astral Eye.

In the first stages of spiritual development the yogi beholds the spherical astral eye surrounded by the inner darkness closed eyes. In deeper meditation when he can actually withdraw his life and consciousness from the internal organs-calming the heart, breath, and the senses-he can peer through the telescopic Golden Ring of the Astral eye in which his vision then become spherical. Though the astral eye appears after some degree of sincere concentration, it requires years of deep meditation before the yogi can actually peer through the golden telescope of the astral eye.  When the advanced Kriya Yogi attains this stage, she/he can see his entire astral body.  Just as the sunlight or any physical light is necessary to see the physical body so a light called Bindu Scintillates from the astral eye and illumines the whole astral body with its spine of sushumna, containing within it the two other luminous passageways-vajra and chitra-and the seven various -colored lustrous centers and their lifetronic radiations woven into the brilliant astral form.
