New Yorkers should be able to see a supermoon this week as the first full moon of fall will make its appearance in Thursday's night sky.

Known as the hunter's moon for its relation to this specific time of year, it's also one of four supermoons — and the closest — of 2024, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac, coming within 222,055 miles from Earth at its nearest point.
