Title: What works best for you?

Because of personal disposition, physical health and personal beliefs different forms of relaxation, spiritual practice and meditation work best for each individual. That is something i have learned from being around people involved in meditation and relaxation all my life. That is why there are so many areas to this site. Affirmation, physical exercise and activity followed by relaxation, chanting, various forms of breathing and visualization all forms of relaxation and meditation. Some people like guided meditation. Or in certain settings or in conjunction with certain sounds or music. Each person must find his or her own way of settling the mind and body so that it is possible to reach a meditative state.

It is also entirely common that are forms of meditation may change depending on our moods, comfort, habitat, circumstances, surroundings, the people we are with and the state of our current disposition and beliefs.

As an example; an agnostic or atheist may not choose a meditation discipline that is primarily religious or spiritually based. He/she may choose Buddhism or perhaps some humanly created meditation techniques. A Protestant or Catholic may choose a Christian based meditation. Someone more inclined to have an interest in other cultures may choose a more guru based or eastern approach or even an indigenous approach. Some people have had certain experiences or influences from people and places in their environment and personal in nature that have led them to various ways to meditate. Or perhaps you just picked up a magazine on it and started with a simple approach you were exposed to while reading.
