Title: The Path to Peace Post by: guest88 on May 11, 2020 03:19 am Wanted to quickly comment and say that there are two attributes to peace- positive peace and negative peace... PY's words to come later tonight...
Also wanted to comment to say meditation is an effort to contact the Soul, if we've made contact with our Soul, we know Peace. We know Truth. How often do we forget this? Tells me we aren't anchored in Self-Realization. Title: Re: The Path to Peace Post by: guest88 on May 11, 2020 07:00 am Quote Peace, also, is a quality of the soul: he who is not in tune with the soul has no peace. The peaceless person has no happiness, because peace means absence of sorrow, a prerequisite to happiness. Sadness is usually followed by mental indifference- the negative state of peace. When peace in its negative state of absence-of sorrow has been immediately preceded by deep grief, then through contrast a mental tranquility is experienced, which the ignorant man calls 'peace.' His peace is conditional on sadness. For him, 'I have long been peaceful' signifies 'I have long been without excitement of troubles.' Negative peace, unmarred by the contrast of pain, in time becomes insipid or meaningless- a state of sheer boredom. Positive peace, however, emanates from the soul and is the sacred inner environment in which true happiness unfolds. This positive state may be said to be the precursor of divine bliss. |
