In the course of your life you have after careful consideration come to a decision on many questions, have you not? But now you will have to realize that no solution is ever conclusive; in other words, you will have to go beyond the level where there is certainty and uncertainty. The resolution of a problem arrived at by the mind must of necessity be from a particular point of view; consequently there will he room for contradiction, since your solution represents but one aspect. What then have you actually solved? You will find a complete and final solution of each particular question from its own particular angle of emergence; and you will also find that there is a place where all problems (actual and possible) have but one universal solution, in which there is no longer any room left for contradiction. The question of solution or non-solution will then cease to arise: whether one says ‘yes’ or ‘no’, - everything is THAT. What an amazing woman. Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jan 31, 2023 01:00 pm I am almost sure this woman is still alive and has chelas around her. It's ecstasy and omnipresence. I believe she likes the water. No doubt your faith and that recognition has brought her council when it is needed. And this gratitude has created this important thread you decided to start. Thanks Steve. What an amazing woman. Yea I believe she has correctly defined our differences and their source. That is the greatness of a guru. They’re timeless wisdom may become available at any time that a devotee is in tune and sees answers to the riddles and paradoxes that face him or he, and their friends, when they seek answers to the unfolding scenes of life. We often have difficulties playing our roles, where we forget or do not understand, our parts we have been assigned to play. The answer comes with the recognition of what “THAT” is. “THAT” is why I continue to contemplate the statement she has made. All I’m able to say so far is the answer which attempts to satisfy my rationale mind, is that each different view represents a piece of a puzzle 🧩. A puzzle in which we are attempting to recognize the picture provided for the view of “That”. “That” picture, which shows enough parts so we have found our peace in the total view. A member of a well known Indian family, who had distinguished herself by devoting her life to social service, came for SRI MA’s darsana and asked: "Does the capacity to meditate come by practice in this life, or is it an aptitude acquired in former births ?" SRI MA: It may be the result of either of the two, or of both combined. Meditation should be practised every day of one’s life. Look, what is there in this world? Absolutely nothing that is lasting; therefore direct your longing towards the Eternal. Pray that the work done through you, His instrument, may be pure. In every action remember Him. The purer your thinking, the finer will be your work. In this world you get a thing, and by tomorrow it may be gone. This is why your life should be spent in a spirit of service; feel that the Lord is accepting services from you in whatever you do. If you desire peace you must cherish the thought of Him. Question: When will there be peace on earth? SRI MA: Well , you know what the present state of affairs is; things are happening as they are destined to be. Question: When will this state of unrest come to an end? SRI MA: The fact that many of you feel concerned about it and ask: ‘When will it end?’ is also one of the ways of His Self-manifestation. Jagat (world) means ceaseless movement, and obviously there can be no rest in movement. How could there be peace in perpetual coming and going? Peace reigns where no coming exists and no going, no melting and no burning. Reverse your course, advance towards Him then there will be hope of peace. By your japa and meditation those who are close to you will also benefit through the helpful influence of your presence. In order to develop a taste for meditation you have to make a deliberate and sustained effort 3 just as children have to be made to sit and study, be it by persuasion or coercion. By taking medicine or having injections a patient may get well; even if you do not feel inclined to meditate, conquer your reluctance and make an attempt. The habit of countless lives is pulling you in the opposite direction and making it difficult for you - persevere in spite of it! By your tenacity you will gain strength and be moulded; that is to say, you will develop the capability to do sadhana. Make up your mind that however arduous the task, it will have to be accomplished. Recognition and fame last for a short time only, they do not accompany you when you leave this world. If your thought does not naturally flow towards the Eternal, fix it there by an effort of will. Some severe blow of fate will drive you towards God. This will be but an expression of His Mercy; however painful, it is by such blows that one learns one’s lesson. The obstinacy of the mind must be curbed with resoluteness. Whether the mind co-operates or not, you must be adamant in your determination to do a certain amount of practice without fail - simply because sadhana is man’s real work. For so long you have been accustomed to perform actions that fetter, therefore from sheer force of habit you feel the urge to bind yourself by activity again and again. But if you try hard for some time, you will be able to see for yourself how you are caught in your work, and that the more you engage in sadhana the quicker will be your advance. As to self-surrender: by constantly endeavouring to live a life of self-dedication, it will come about one day. What does self-surrender mean, if not to surrender to one’s very own Self! Keep in mind what this little daughter* of yours is asking you to do! https://www.anandamayi.org/books/atmnda.htm Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: guest587 on Feb 01, 2023 03:13 am Thank you Steve. She really inspires me to meditate. I have been lax... But I can correct this discipline. So true... The creator fragmented itself upon the field of potentiality and we're but a mere speck in this omnipotent reality. It is easy to become distracted with all the selves the creator has churned, instead of withdrawing within and attempting direct alignment. Eventually... All those faces become One reflection. You can't help but see it otherwise. And life becomes a walking miracle... Sacred, and we can tread gently with this realization.
That is my belief. Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Feb 01, 2023 08:19 pm I came in contact with the name of Anandamoy Ma in my early 20’s when a friend of mine went to India with her boy friend and spent time with her. She came back with stories of how wonderful it was to have met her but also conveyed to me it was challenging as a woman in India in the 1970’s and especially a western woman.
I’m just starting to delve into her and her spirit. I have had a growing faith, that there was something spirit had to say through her that affects us here now, even though it was said close to a century before. I didn’t know she would seem to bring us an understanding of divergent views that are difficult to know how to handle but she has. That’s the timelessness of a true Master. I see that a ‘guest’ created this thread: 😂 You often make me laugh at the strangest circumstances and moments. I guess people would have to be there when this thread was started to understand the ironical humor it has brought to us. I’m often impressed at how women have quite a different way of handling ego then men. Sometimes though the clause ‘ no pain, no gain,’ has a special significance all its own. Remember this; “Everything is That!” Then the “solution or non-solution will cease to arise.” Get that one ok 👌 And her advice is final, better not to think it over too long though. She may have another ego leveled, Alice-in-Wonderland response for that as well! It reminds me somewhat of giving my compass 🧭 to Amma… thinking maybe she would get my point that I sought her direction, when she enigmatically handed it back after placing her smudge on the direction ‘southeast’ and saying; “ This Compass needs calibration.” And her nuns around her laughed. That’s a woman’s sense of humor for you! Steve shared a Q and A with Anandamayi Ma which encouraged me to meditate. I hope to meditate every night before bed, detoxing from electronics. It was such a rewarding meditation. I found my thoughts would start to drift- but the breath really is such a beautiful anchor. I intended on making the breath audible to help me redirect my awareness and concentration... but found as time passed that I did not hear my breath, but each breath was providing tingling sensations near the neck in the spine. I am grateful for the meditative experience as one on one time with God... I hope to continue to try and cultivate being present instead of drifting too far with thoughts... And although I probably won't record my meditation journal nightly- I hope to maintain the discipline... And withdraw from all these outer activities in order to heal and come back stronger. Thanks be to God. And thank you Steve for the little encouragement. I'm glad you find Ma inspiring. That I've visited her in my dreams, is because my Heart cried out to her. She came, and I saw that she is indeed alive and even possesses powers that defy our understanding. Like levitating. Or moving at incredible speeds. But as you can see, those aren't the type of powers that attracts her followers. Her presence alone, like many of the Masters, acknowledges our spiritual aspirations or what we find ourselves trying to convey when we think about what's important in life. Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: guest587 on Feb 26, 2023 04:14 am A little more about her...

Each time she is accompanied by chelas and near water. She is able to levitate with ease.
I was also introduced to her when reading AoY, and I remember being fascinated with her interaction towards Paramahansa Yogananda. It felt like a child/daughter reuniting with Christ. Really she was overcome with Joy and I think her assuredness of their connection even tripped out Yogananda a little. I can't remember the chapter exactly, so I may go back and read it- but I think she was calling him Father. ....Okay I found the chapter I am talking about and will share it at the bottom. They are spiritual giants, so maybe my calling Yogananda a Christ like figure is true but also a limited understanding. I have found my dream journal from 2019 with her... I titled this dream, "I met an avatar." Quote this morning i had two separate dreams meeting god in a human form. the first was in a man and the second was a woman. the first the man offered me a beer and we talked, i accepted it because i understood it an offering from god. i was honored in the dream and i felt in this man was an entire universe. when i woke i was confused because god knows i quit drinking. the last one was with the woman where i spent more time in the dream and beheld miracles and movements that defy natural laws or what man think their bodies are capable of. she was amazing, fearless, humble, happy and beautiful. i was by her side, she allowed me to ask her questions and i watched her perform healing acts. we walked with her small group of followers and as we walked i started twirling like a dervish from the ecstasy of her presence. at the very end of the dream we were in the ocean and swam. there was also a heavenly music in the background. i felt her joy and watched her move at record speeds, she propelled herself like a missile and shot out of the ocean going so high and went down into the ocean deep to the bottom before shooting back out. she was playing. she then went to the dock where i talked to some of her followers, they were showing me evidence of her divinity. she was instantly dry when she came out of the ocean and she kind of levitated into her chair. needless to say i did not want to wake up or even leave her side. i felt a little sad this morning for waking up. Recorded Feb 13th 2019. When I saw photo's of Anandamayi Ma I knew it was her... And the feelings/emotions in this are not accurately portrayed- as they penetrate my core and left me with a feeling of astonishment. I remember feeling profound love and longing upon gazing at her photos shortly after that dream. Also not mentioned in this recording is that I was at one point viewing the oceans from her eyes. She periodically chimes in with her presence, which is why I am resurfacing post and videos about her... https://youtu.be/Odrxh3gwSok An excerpt from AoY, Quote A few days later I heard that the Blissful Mother was staying at the home of a disciple in the Bhowanipur section of Calcutta. Mr. Wright and I set out immediately from my father's Calcutta home. As the Ford neared the Bhowanipur house, my companion and I observed an unusual street scene. Ananda Moyi Ma was standing in an open-topped automobile, blessing a throng of about one hundred disciples. She was evidently on the point of departure. Mr. Wright parked the Ford some distance away, and accompanied me on foot toward the quiet assemblage. The woman saint glanced in our direction; she alit from her car and walked toward us. "Father, you have come!" With these fervent words she put her arm around my neck and her head on my shoulder. Mr. Wright, to whom I had just remarked that I did not know the saint, was hugely enjoying this extraordinary demonstration of welcome. The eyes of the one hundred chelas were also fixed with some surprise on the affectionate tableau. I had instantly seen that the saint was in a high state of samadhi. Utterly oblivious to her outward garb as a woman, she knew herself as the changeless soul; from that plane she was joyously greeting another devotee of God. She led me by the hand into her automobile. "Ananda Moyi Ma, I am delaying your journey!" I protested. "Father, I am meeting you for the first time in this life, after ages!" she said. "Please do not leave yet." We sat together in the rear seats of the car. The Blissful Mother soon entered the immobile ecstatic state. Her beautiful eyes glanced heavenward and, half-opened, became stilled, gazing into the near-far inner Elysium. The disciples chanted gently: "Victory to Mother Divine!" https://youtu.be/mh02qUixocw Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: guest587 on Mar 01, 2023 01:48 am I went ahead and edited my post, two post up, because the original channeling was difficult to hear.
The video I've replaced it with talks a little bit about the life of Anandamayi Ma and provides a little introspection/mantra at the end. Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Mar 09, 2024 04:22 am https://youtu.be/fSUI4Sn-hr4?si=qe1kW67_TkES1xx8

A wonderful video exploring this great spiritual being. Our Brother Eric started this thread and I’m hoping he sees this video I was directed towards posting here. Title: Reincarnation; Anandamayi Ma Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jul 31, 2024 11:25 am "On another occasion there was a discussion about man's past lives. Sri Ma said: 'Rebirth is a fact. There is no doubt about it. When (a) cataract in one's eyes is removed by an operation, one's eye-sight is restored. Likewise, by deep concentration on the Divine, when the veil that obscures our vision is removed and the mind purified and focused on the Self, the significance of mantras and of the deities of which they are the sound forms dawns on us and the impressions of previous births flash upon our consciousness. Just as while at Dacca, you can have a mental picture of what you have seen in Calcutta, so also can you project a more graphic image of your past lives upon your present mental screen.' She added: 'When I see you, I can get a vision of a series of pictures of your past births.' On one occasion while in Calcutta, a gentleman and his wife came to Sri Ma with their son aged about seven or eight. On seeing the child she remarked: 'This boy was related to this body as brother in his past birth.' One of Sri Ma's brothers died very young. He had a severe hurt on his arm and it was bent. The above mentioned boy also had a crooked arm."

We are unable to sing the Lord's name.
Sri Anandamayi Ma started laughing. In due course, she said, 'Even if you cannot take the name, then do as I tell you. As soon as you get up from sleep in the morning, pray this to God, "Oh Lord, may we perform our actions as you ordained and may we also understand at the same time that we are doing what you would like us to do." "In actual fact, whatever we do is exactly as God has ordained previously but we fail to comprehend this. All our actions are as He would like us to do. So, we must pray to God, "You must make us your tools, and let us understand that we are merely your tools." Whether in bed or not in bed, each morning you must pray this to God. If you could not sit on your bed to do so, you can lie down and pray. Although if you pray lying down, your attention is riveted more on us than on your prayers, still it is better to do this than nothing. I am speaking of praying while lying down in this light. Again, when you go to bed at night, you should pray this again, "Oh Lord, even as sleep may be dedicated to you as you wish, so that we can be aware of this." In this way you must keep Him in mind during all your actions which you must carry out as His wish. If you proceed along these lines, you will realize truly one day that there exists nothing in this world except Him. Ma Anandamoyi Title: Re: Anandamayi Ma Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Dec 29, 2025 06:06 pm "During one of the very popular satsangs in Varanasi, a question was raised regarding rebirths. Pandit Vaidyanath said, "Ma, we believe in rebirths according to karmic laws." Sri Ma, "Yes, that is so."
Question: "But Christians believe in one birth only. After death they are to wait for the Day of Judgement when God will decide their destinies." Sri Ma: "Yes, that is the truth." Everyone laughed to hear Sri Ma endorse two seemingly opposite points of view. Sri Ma also joined in saying, "Bholanath used to call me queen of the Appellate Court ('Appealeshwari'), because I seem to agree with everyone. The fact is that I truly see the interconnections between statements; the singulars one by one lead to the totality of infinity. What is there to reject and what is there to accept? Beliefs belong to the plane of the mind; the mind is shaped and determined by untold predilections. The proneness toward a set of beliefs rises from predilections which are not known to you. I see that whoever is expressing a belief is convinced that it is so and from his point of view that is so indeed!" Sri Ma had a way of diffusing doctrinal disputations. She laid stress on the quest for knowledge which alone could resolve doubts. A God-oriented attitude of mind was needed. Unless and until man takes the path toward the supreme, he cannot find peace; therefore the remembrance of God must be sustained under all conditions and circumstances. She would say, "You ask, how to achieve peace? I say to you, if you constantly live with things which are unquiet and disturbing, how can you hope for tranquility? Sitting near a fire, you cannot feel cool. To attain God is to attain peace. All that is helpful toward this end is of the nature of serenity. There is no other way to peace". Here 'mine' and 'thine' do not exist - only the Self stands Self-revealed. THAT, and THAT alone. A mother does not keep an account of what she does for her children - for are they not her own? Likewise, here also there is no accounting of how much power has been communicated." ~ Sri Anandamayi Ma ("Words Of Sri Anandamayi Ma" Translated and Compiled by Atmananda, page 96) |
