Title: Om Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Oct 07, 2018 02:30 am Om
a mystic syllable, considered the most sacred mantra in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. It appears at the beginning and end of most Sanskrit recitations, prayers, and texts. Title: Re: Om Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Oct 15, 2018 12:27 pm I recall once driving out west and getting out of the car at nite in the desert and listening to the deafening silence around me; suddenly out of this stillness the sound of om pervaded everything around me. Many meditation masters and teachers talk and teach how to listen to the word or Om. It is a cosmic vibration. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 God created all this creation from thought and then vibration. The sound of om or this vibration starts to be audibly heard in the practice of meditation. There are many aspects to the sounds of om. The sound of the ocean or listening in a sea shell is how it often begins. It is like the sound of the ocean but not near the ocean. Both Amma and Paramahansa Yogananda teach how to listen to the om. I am sure that many Masters teach this practice. |
