Title: Reincarnation Question Post by: VedicExplorer on Oct 01, 2018 05:32 pm Does anyone know whether sinful conduct can result in birth in the bodies of animals or other lower life forms? Some Vedic teachers maintain that it can. What did Yogananda say about this?
Is reincarnation unidirectional, viz., upwards, or can it go downwards as well? Title: Re: Reincarnation Question Post by: sk17 on Oct 01, 2018 05:40 pm I read that in srf lessons that yogananda said that a human can be born as animal. But this very very rare but not impossible. A human being can be born as an animal if he/she committed very very extreme heinous sins such as necrophilia, beastility or engaging in extremely hideous and sadistic acts like serial killer Ted Bundy. But this punishment is only for most vile and hideous crimes . Not for average people or even average convicts. Understand that god does not intends to punish and several chances are given even to convicts convicted of first degree felony. Title: Re: Reincarnation Question Post by: sk17 on Oct 01, 2018 06:34 pm I also think that once a soul reached human life. The intelligence and self awareness cannot be reversed. It's a kind of punishment . You have all intelligence of a human and you are born as a dog or a cat.
Kind of similar like this horse. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clever_Hans Although science wont believe that this horse was a human in his past lives but this seems to be a curious case. Title: Re: Reincarnation Question Post by: ding dong on Oct 01, 2018 07:16 pm Clever hans has been explained.
