Title: Lucid dreaming during meditation
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Dec 04, 2017 03:22 pm
Lucid dreaming during and part of meditation interests me. I was practicing the om technique and saw dream scenes pass like a reel before my eyes. I wonder if they hold more significance since they are dreamt awake.

I was going to rehearsal in a large white home on a hill and shaded by beautiful trees. The driveway came to the top of the hill and looped around the front of the mansion. It reminded me somewhat of mother center at mount washington california except this place seemed much more comfortable, natural and inviting. Perhaps it was partially because it was a beautiful breezy day and the wind was blowing thru the trees that nestled the house.

A lucid dream is any dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming. In relation to this phenomenon, Greek philosopher Aristotle observed: "often when one is asleep, there is something in consciousness which declares that what then presents itself is but a dream". However unlike Aristotles' description i have often seen such phenomena during meditation and even occasionally in everyday activities.

While meditating a few minutes i saw the top of the dunes here in michigan nestled with vegetation where i sometimes meditate. I believe the Indians once used some of these places for their spiritual journeys.

Maybe more sleep would help the active mind when you're supposed to be sleeping. I'm dead tired when I hit the pillow and don't dream much, as I don't really want to unless it helps somehow.
