Title: Hawk
Post by: guest88 on Aug 10, 2017 09:39 pm
(https://www.spirit-animals.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Harris-Hawk1-940x380.jpg)

I  just got done riding home yesterday and noticed a Hawk fly right over my head and into a very special tree(to me) in my parents backyard. I was mesmerized. He chilled there for a little then flew off. I think this tree in my parents backyard carries a lot of spiritual energy. I've had dreams of it, have seen things by staring into it- my parents dogs are drawn to it... When their last one died he went under the tree and died in my arms. It's also where I learned the word Sufi...
Anyway

Here's what I read on it from this website: https://www.spirit-animals.com/hawk-symbolism/
If a Hawk totem has flown into your life, you must pay attention because you are about to receive a message from Spirit. Thus, you will need to take the time to interpret and integrate this message into your daily life. In order to help you interpret your Hawk meaning you must take into consideration that this bird holds the key to a higher consciousness. Therefore, it will try to bring these things into your circle of awareness and consciousness. When this bird of prey is present, know that enlightenment is imminent.
This bird of prey often represents the ability to see meaning in ordinary experiences if you choose to become more observant.

In other words, many of the messages this bird brings to you are about freeing yourself from thoughts and beliefs that are limiting your ability to soar above your life and gaining a greater perspective. In the long run, it is this ability to soar high above to catch a glimpse of the bigger picture that will allow you to survive and flourish.

I had a wonderful jog today in a quiet neighborhood. I got to feel the sun, enjoy the yellows, reds and greens from the trees. The squirrels were out in HIGH numbers! They made me laugh, such funny creatures heheh.  :)
In the middle of my run I spotted a cooper's Hawk. I slowed my pace, stopped and admired his presence. He let me get closer and I saw red in his eyes, a beautiful golden white breast and a striped tail. The dragonflies were out too. It was a very nice day of relaxation and I intend to bump these totems up on the forum again to explore their behaviors and significance with you.

Behavior
The hunting Cooper's Hawk approaches its prey stealthily, moving quietly through dense cover until it is close enough to overcome its target with a burst of speed. The secretive traits that allow the Cooper's Hawk to surprise its prey also make it difficult to observe. It is most easily seen during migration.

Not sure if this was a hawk this morning but I saw two birds at a relatively high altitude showing off some pretty amazing aerial maneuvers. I thought it was a falcon but know this neighborhood has more hawks... I think there was a white belly though underboth of these birds and the sound coming from one of the birds wasn't a whistle or a caw but a very intense buzzing vibration like that of a low and muffled radio hum

According to my friend and local bird expert, we have Mississippie Kite's in our neighborhood. Initially, I thought these were falcons but am learning the Kite's belong to the Hawk family.

I remember seeing the nest and months later hearing the babies. Now we have these beautiful whistles early in the morning and through out the day when it's quiet.

And some fun facts about the Mississippie Kite
Quote
One of our most graceful fliers, this kite glides, circles, and swoops in pursuit of large flying insects. Despite the name, it is most common on the southern Great Plains. During recent decades, the planting of trees in shelterbelts and towns has made it possible for this bird to nest in many areas where it was formerly scarce; many towns on the southern plains now have their own nesting colonies of Mississippi Kites.

These are the kind I see

Quote
Diet
Mostly large insects. Major items in diet include cicadas, grasshoppers, katydids, beetles, and dragonflies; also eats moths, bees, and other insects, mainly large ones. In addition, eats lesser numbers of frogs, toads, snakes, bats, rodents, small birds, turtles.

Nesting
Usually nests in loose colonies. Courtship behavior not well known, may involve aerial acrobatics, and posturing while perched. Nest site is in tree, usually near edge of woodlot, usually 20-35' above ground; can be up to 140' high. In oaks or mesquites on plains, may be as low as 6'. Nest (built by both sexes) is rather flimsy platform of dead twigs, lined with green leaves. Adults continue to add greenery to nest during season.

a heart breaking moment today, on the way to a shoe outlet i saw a very large female hawk laying in the middle of the road with her eyes half opened. she looked tired and injured. i was exiting one highway and entering another, the merging highways worked in that they conjoined above the road by at least 20 feet. there was no shoulder to pull over and by the time i noticed the bird i had just swerved out of its way. i was going at least 65-70mph and there was a car behind me riding close. thinking back i don't think it would have been wise of me to throw my hazards on and risk an accident. unfortunately there were no quick turn around options either. the nearest exit was over a mile away and there was no opposite lane, just a narrow one way ramp for merging in which the bird was laying in the middle of. the car behind me missed it but there were even more cars coming... the poor bird, it breaks my heart... i am saddened i didn't try more, to go back and take her off the road. i've done nothing before and watched a bird killed because of it...  please pray for this poor and beautiful animal... it's important we try.... i tried calling the local game warden and animal rescue but received no help... it's important we take matters into our own hands... today i missed an opportunity to serve a creature a chance at life... on the way back, a different route, i saw an owl dead on the side of the road.

steve, given your past occupation- i wonder how often you've encountered injured wildlife. the rescue shelter gave me the number to our game warden saying it's a road hazard but the warden did not answer or have a voice mail set up. i will have to make more of an effort next time...

Really have wanted this for sometime. I see that each of us is limited by our own views, attitudes and mental constructs. When we get a larger more all encompassing picture we can expand our consciousness. We can feel as we too can get an aireal view of what is our larger reality. Meditation can help us gain such a larger picture.

For the last few days the hawk and his message is coming back to me. The vulture is also being sighted each time I recognize the hawk.

Hawk + Vulture . . .

I saw a huge hawk on my run today, right as I began practicing manifesting. The message conveyed by spirit was a challenge and an opportunity. Take the challenge, propel yourself forward with strength and courage.

Later I found this video reminding me of the hawk:

Pretty sure my Grandma came to visit me in my dreams last night. Not only that, I had a surprise visit from a great spirit this afternoon. Managed to snag a couple photo's!

Also I think she is still lingering around today, the lightbulb suddenly went out and my dog was acting very strange and sitting by my side- my dog used her weight to open the door while I was showering and made a point to stay by which is not her normal behavior.

I love how the light and blur effect captured this first one...

I tried to meditate and felt something very deep instantaneously behind closed eyes. It can be a bit intimidating... But I will try again.

Title: Rich with Being ( Fine Feathered Friends)
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Oct 20, 2022 04:32 pm
Red tail hawk has brought the story
Came to bring a special message
Rich with being Rich with being
On a rustc road before us

Trails thru the darkness
stars that map the way
Misty morning mountains
Falcon sours with grace

Small red arrow feathered sparrow
In our small ways we can fly
Bounded by a message for us
Rhymes and riddles mark the way

Signs along the journey
Synchronicity
Being Rich with Being
Guardian of our dreams

Raven takes us even farther
On a moonstone walking morning
Waves of mystery toss the dark sea
Floating on a wave of bliss

Being Rich Rich With Being
And Now as time is stands still
Our trails merge and come together
Fine feathered friends

Great writing Steve! =)

Yea it was another one of those inspirations that came thru while spending time with our good friend Nikki. She has left us now and inhabits higher realms but occasionally still peeps through and enjoys this realm too.

There is an  inspiration we often feel through such friendships. These non-ordinary states of consciousness are often associated with friends.

No doubt your latest visitation as presaged in the photo experiences you had with the hawk was nature letting you know what is available to us beyond our challenges and temporary differences. That is my take on it. You may have your own.

We need to be grateful for little miracles in our life. The more we notice the better are awareness. It is a dull perception or just plain mundane existence if someone doesn’t recognize the blessings in your encounter with the hawk Eric.

Thanks Steve~

I typed hawk animal totem and Brave's AI search engine compiled this from multiple websites:
"The hawk animal totem is a symbol of foresight, clear vision, and spiritual awareness. It provides wisdom about seeing situations from a higher perspective, using the power of observation, and focusing on the task at hand. If you have the hawk as a totem, you may have an inclination towards using the power of vision and intuition in your daily life. The hawk totem reveals your inner world and your stamina, guides and protects you, and reminds you of the importance of spiritual awareness. If you have the hawk as a totem, you have or are developing the ability to see clearly and have strong visions. It is believed that hawk people are great in counseling and imparting wisdom to others. The hawk totem is effective protection against bad elements and keeps other predators away. It reminds us that life is hard and it hurts, and we often seek permanent answers that will relieve us of the pain of life. Hawk medicine warns that certainty does not occur in the wild for very long."

Hope you see your own words here as helpful- I know you have similar blessings in your life with these special encounters.
