Title: Lov'n Nature
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Dec 03, 2016 09:00 am
i have found some of my best meditations have been out in nature. Just give me some trees, a stream, a river, a lake some mountains, an ocean or some woods and I can be shortly in an altered state! Even the wind, the rain and the smell of water and leaves can send me there.

There is a beautiful local park here on the edge of town. It has a nice lake in the middle, where turtles swim. You can feed them if you want. And there's a walking path that goes around it in a circle. Then there are many paths that branch off the main circle and go through thicker woods. It's kind of like a grove. When I go there by myself, my nervous system shifts. I can connect with parts of myself that aren't easily accessible when I'm in town. I saw a group doing tai chi out there once.

I know the feeling! I have several places to be out in nature where I live but this time of year I really connect with the rapids of the White River in the Manistee Forest. I find a place on a bluff or sitting on some moss near the river and meditate and exercise for hours. I usually go away from there inspired and at peace with myself and the world.
