Title: An interesting observation about meditation.
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Sep 19, 2016 03:37 am
i have made an intersting observation about meditation.....especially the last years. As a young meditator i remember Paramahansa Yogananda had said something about not dumping the pail of peace you have just gathered. Stay in silence and spiritual peace and contemplation for a while. Then later i was instructed by amma to stay quiet for at least 10 minutes afer meditation besides laying in savasana as the last part of the iam technique.

Since having some medical issues i have found it more difficult to remain still during meditation. Although after meditation i have found i have been rewarded by various other uplifting experiences and states of consciousness.

i think the most important phenomena that happens during meditation is that of upliftment. When we can feel the effects of upliftment we 'see' ourselves and the world around us differently. It is like smoking good pot or having mescalin. Your perception of the world becomes different.... not like these material substances u ingest, you must pay for and eventually you may have side effects from. Meditation brings a subtle change in consciousness that besides making us feel better about ourselves it also brings a change in attitude about those around us and those we have known all our lives. We become more grateful for everyone who has entered our lives and we appreciate their unique spirit ray.
