Spirit fox The guru is the victorious one who no longer has to come to this material world he is free from this demension having overcome all the trials here. He/she only comes back to help those who are themselves trying to be free of this life and once again awaken in spirit. He/she is the savior: the one who can pilot us out of the clouds of delusion surrounding our consciousness. Jai (Hail) Guru (the spiritual perceptor). I appears as though you have not seen him but he is reaching out to you....

Foxy Thanks for cleaning up my spelling errors. Have you ever thought of the idea of someone helping you in your spiritual search?. As you know doubt know: you and i help each other as friends. But i am talking about someone who is already free of this world and this realm who has the ability to also help you be free also? Answering him is as simple as asking and searching for that someone who can do that for you. If you are sincere you will 'see' such a one.
When you say how do i answer him what is the question that is being asked of you? Did i ask a question or is this question in your own mind that you are asking?

Steve

Steve,

About this idea of someone helping me with my spiritual search, I just have to sit in meditation and ask for someone to come to me ? And whoever comes, is the one who will help ?

My question about " How do I answer him? " was in reply to your comment about " he is reaching out to you " . It seems then, if I am correct, that I must have already a connection ,unknown to me, with this Jai Guru ? This must be a question in my mind, this " How do I answer him ".

many thanks for your replies
Foxy

Title: Finding Jai Guru
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 28, 2009 08:22 pm
We have given you a couple of choices for 'gurus' Specifically Paramahansa Yogananda and Amma. Others may come to this site with other sat gurus who can/will help us on the path. If you have someone you already follow who you feel can lead you to the presence of God we hope you share your experiences with us as i have with you.

At some point we must realize that God does not immediatly come to the devotee and say 'Here I am'. God is shy and does not throw out revelations to those who still (this is also an accurate portrayal of my life) vacilate on the spiritual path.

It is up to us to search and find our link to God. That is one reason why this forum is called 'soul searching'. God first speaks thru the hard lessons of the world and then thru books and teachers. When we are truly sincere a guru will come to us. This could be thru a friend or just a book we read about such a one. When we start to follow such a one and start to see our life change and start having spiritual awakening then we know that this is the one we should follow. It is possible that a guru may help us in some dramatic way like i have relayed to you in my story about the 'miracle that happened to me. In this way he/she creates a bond for us. A bond between the guru and disciple.

This is not just a belief but during this age gurus have come to give us spiritual techniques for our souls evolution. We can only go so far on our own then we eventually realize that we are limited by our own preconcieved ideas. It takes a guru to pilot us out of the clouds of our mind.

i pray for you Spirit Fox. You have also helped me. Let us joourney together in our growing understanding..

I am new on this spiritual path, many thanks for your help along the way. I will read more about Yogananda and Amma.

I am sure it takes many long years and deep devotion for God to appear.

Soul Searching ~ how appropriate. Let us search together on this spiritual journey, I will add you in my prayers - many thanks for yours.

What i have found to my spiritual path is that God does respond and come to us but usually not in ways we would expect with our rational minds. i think it is important to be grateful for the ways we hear/see him responding and this will continue to help us hear that still voice within.

So we should expect the unexpected, along the spiritual path and always keep our eyes and our hearts open.

I was sleeping and then woke up, remembering a feeling of peace, unlike ever before. The dream was short, in time of reality, I was somewhere, under a tree, all alone just sitting in silence. I felt a shadow near by, when I looked, it was gone. Later, I heard leaves crunching, like someone was walking nearby, so I looked again. Standing there, with a smile on his face was a man, long flowing dark hair, in an orange robe. Then he disappeared, but the feeling of peace stayed even after I woke up.

We have a section called the Autobiography of a Yogi under Yogananda. It would be nice to hear some of your comments if you choose.
