Spiritual Portal

I have just finished making a simple application that would allow people to "check in" and let others in the group know they are meditating in real time. This seems like it could be a kind of encouragement and group solidarity for meditators. I have not put it online yet but I want to get an idea if any of you here would be interested in participating. Thanks.

It will be on my server. It wouldn't be possible to put it on this site for a few reasons.

U r always welcome to combining your efforts and developments here with spiritual portal as we've appreciated your help and support. i tried to call u about this recently but was unable to reach u (left a voice mail) We wish you the best with your personal aspirations as well. Thanks, I didn't know you called, Steve. It was just a fun project to make. I started it Friday. I was trying to get an idea of who here, if anyone, might be interested in participating. I'm not going to promote it that hard I just thought it would be a neat experiment.

hmmm i left messages on your voice mail. Well as i said before i hope for the best for u here and elsewhere. Nothing has changed. i was on your site but never could register- even though i tried- more then once but that is a different matter. We can discuss it over the phone sometime if u would like.

Steve, I assume the messages got left on the home phone. There my dad simply deletes them without mentioning it to me. This is the truth, as odd as it sounds.

That is interesting that you weren't able to register. I'd be interested in knowing what happened. But don't worry about signing up there for my sake. It is only me there and I might end up taking it down or possibly transferring it to you if you want to promote it or I could easily set you up something similar to replace this forum as we spoke about. I will probably go to bed I can chat with you about it tomorrow if you want.

The other site would just be a meditation list dedicated for that purpose.

I forgot to tell y'all I put this live. Although I now think the idea is a bit silly. It was still fun to make.

i live in a rather remote area of Michigan at this time so we do not have meditation groups here. Although i am considering starting one. Over the years i have found that meditation in nature works best for me. When i am with other friends in nature it is even better. i remember their being group meditations at other sites. However i never participated... i meditate rather erratically at different times of day and nite. Depending on the weather and whether the mosquitoes and gnats are out. So since i am quite often, if not most often, outside during meditation i am not near the internet. The internet works poorly outdoors where i live and i do not carry a phone everywhere i go in nature.

i bring friends into my meditations already. Both u (Brock) and mccoy have often been in my prayers after meditation. At this time in my life i leave myself open to many ideas and people. If something seems to work for myself and others i will try it. However since my friends r already in my meditations i am not sure about the added possibility of virtual group meditation at such distances. There r vibrations that occur in a room between people and when we raise our consciousness in a room or in a place outdoors those vibrations affect those around us. Parmahansa Yogananda even talked about people sleeping during meditation and how those sleep vibrations bring down the vibrations of all those present; so it is best to tap someone if they fall asleep. However i have also heard of a Master talking about the vibrations of meditating at a distance when it comes to bringing the help of high souls into our meditation. Yogananda also talked of connecting with other souls at a telepathic level.

Neat & simple. Good to provide a chromatic distinction for the on/off meditation status.

i decided to join again and see if this time i get a verification back. So far i am getting no email back so for some reason i am unable to join. Both times no activation link was sent to me.

Steve, look in your spam folder as some email systems will mark it as spam.

Second time i tried to sign up. Still no results and nothing in the spam folder, both times i received no activation link.

Steve, I activated your account. I will investigate why the emails might not be getting through some filters. It seems to work with gmail and shows up in junk for Outlook. By the way, your passwords are stored encrypted.

O.K. well i have used a yahoo account for your site and it did not seem to work at all for yahoo. Perhaps the way i set up my account was not following computer programming for your site. For instance... i used steve hydonus, with a space between names for I.D. i am in now!

Thanks Brock for your help and friendship! We must always remember that life would be quite boring and hard to learn from if everyone was like us. i am fortunate to have someone else around interested in meditation. i appreciate your being here and your entries. While we see things differently i find that the very difference helps me question my own routine and helps me by trying to avoid getting in a rut of mechanical practice.

Steve, by the way, where are you located exactly in Michigan now? I enjoy flying upon world areas by google earth. Last time I tried that I was impressed by the abundance of woods and lakes  in your area.

i am in various places in Michigan depending on work/service living and health. Specifically Fremont and Grand Rapids. Recently Kalamazoo and Canton as well.

Is there a way to make a "Meditation Check IN" (or whatever) styled button just as you've created the "Wisdom Quotes" ? I see it under links but it's not so readily available and when you put it by "News:" you can't actually click on the link...

Perhaps I'm being lazy but I feel it would encourage more to check in under the live meditation list as it's easier to access.

Also, I am not asking for the link I am asking if there's a way to make the link into a button similar to the button titled "Wisdom Quotes"? I'm asking if we can place said button side by side so all one would need to do is click if they wish to join in.

There are several points you are bringing up here. What i mean is that i have volunteered various things to others. Why would they assume i did not mean it... thus the story of a friend from Columbia:

Yes i am aware of that Brock. However u should be able to change links and news and gallery among other things as a global moderator.

I can't make the changes Daemoon mentioned or make any other changes to the page (nor to "news"). But that is okay, the site address is still available in the news section. That should suffice or you can just bookmark it Daemoon. The meditation list site is a little buggy still. It currently shows Steve as meditating all the time. Maybe he has the page opened with his phone or something because it is supposed to set to "not meditating" when they close the window or logout. I have also noticed problems in Microsoft edge browser.

Anyway...

I am now open on Microsoft browser.

These are just a few of the privileges I see available to me as a moderator. Why would it be any different for u? Save, remove or create is available under each category.

This may also b of interest. Since i have the internet on the phone i also tried a laptop. Your site will not give a change of password link to my yahoo address.... although it says it has sent one i have waited an hour nothing came thru.

Don't take any concern over the matter our Master of ceremonies Mr. 'B' didn't show up so I did an unrehearsed guided meditation through the twilight zone. This is the way nightmares begin or perhaps end; very simple direct, unadorned, incredible and yet so terribly real that even while they're happening we live with them and digest them and assimilate them. If it's 12 o'clock noon that's what you preoccupy yourself with; you don't think about 12 o'clock noon on the next day or the day after that is what you should have been thinking about tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

What me worry? I was crossing over the line from reality to fantasy and really connected with Rod's guidance into the 5th dimension.

Yo Steve, I will look into it this evening. Some emails are putting the emails in the spam folder. As far as I know, it has something to do with flagging email sent from lesser known servers. Each email service handles it differently. Well let you know when I find out more.

U have some interesting guests with some unusual meditation practices. Although I could not sign in I had an amazing meditation!

Please eliminate me from your site. i am unable to view it or log in. A friend told me that i am shown on there now. However i am not. If i resign up using a different email server it may eliminate the problem..... it is worth a try. The last message i saw was that you may need different software.

Done. I deleted your account and yes, it was showing you to be 24 hours meditating. I was quite impressed.

So far it seems Yahoo is not getting the mail but I have tested gmail and outlook, which both work. Although with outlook, you have to look in the spam folder.

O.K. I have encountered other challenges with Outlook so I choose gmail. lets see how that works out. I will stay logged in a while. It just nice to b back. I began having congested dreams so I thought of starting over. Very nice picture u have up now.
