Title: Separate Paths Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 02, 2009 11:26 am Interesting about your Buddhist friend, have you visited the temple with him, or meditated with him ? Just curious if you have any general thoughts to share on Buddhist meditation, either here or in the Buddhist meditation section. I have thought about it. I have read a few Buddhist books, and do enjoy some of their philosophies. I have never actually gone to their temple. I don't think I really could adhere to it anymore. For I find it very limiting to just follow one path.. When you do that you get stuck behind your mind, and behind doctrines, and never truly are free. You are held fast in rigid beliefs. i had a dream last nite. In the dream i was climbing some sort of ediface that was leading me to a place where there was spiritual inspiration and help. i was climbing with someone else. They decided to take a different path. i felt separated from them although we were going up the same ediface. Steve Hydonus amorabsolutus, interesting comment about following just one path. I like the idea of having an open mind, and learning about a variety of different paths, and ideas. I believe it is possible to combine different teachings to make a path unique to the individual. Title: Re: Separate Paths Post by: Katze on Aug 02, 2009 04:02 pm Interesting dream , perhaps influenced by what you read ? I read somewhere that this is all one journey, but there are many ways to get there.
This feeling of separation, was it because you are firmly on a certain path and perhaps the other person is just a beginner still looking for guidance ? Is it something we are just thinking about so much that it carries over? Or we see, or hear, a sliver of truth, and it presents itself to our subconscious mind through the power of dreams.

Where you feel alone, and that your views and opinions don't resonate with those around you? So you almost feel isolated? Title: Re: Separate Paths Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 02, 2009 05:17 pm It seemed that in the dream the second person intentially wanted to 'go it on his own' It made me feel rather separated and in a sense sad. Although, i started climbing knowing that i could not change or influence his actions.
In answer to your question amor: Perhaps your evaluation has some truth to it. Sometimes you have to let others go and find their own way. It is not always what you like to see though it seems like anymore holding on is tantamount to enabling someone to perpetuate thier attitude about you. Title: Re: Separate Paths Post by: Katze on Aug 02, 2009 05:23 pm You can continue the dream, pick it up where you left off last night and continue climbing to the top, see what happens next ?
The more that I am thinking about this, the idea of taking a different spiritual path seems more like a sideline, in the dream. I would say that you were perhaps thinking about different people you have known in your life and even though at one time, you may have both been " climbing the same ediface " , the time has come that there is a going of seperate ways. This of course, saddens you. Times change, people change, sometimes it is time to let go. Then again, I could be totally wrong in this interpretation. We can each give our own interpretation of your dream, but only you can know, or feel, what it really means.Sometimes this doesn't happen the next morning, but you need to let it sink in, think about it and when the time is right you will know what it means. Oh no climbing all nite? When will get some sleep? Title: Re: Separate Paths Post by: Katze on Aug 02, 2009 05:44 pm whoooooo needs sleep ? anything is possible in a dream
Title: Re: Separate Paths Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 04, 2009 07:02 am Well i think it is interesting that the person that took a different path went to my left as i went straight up. The terrain seemed rocky and rather mountainous in appearance. Thanks for your comments everyone. i think i felt as though the other person in my dream felt that he didn't need my company on this journey. In a way it was like feeling shunned yet excepting it.

U can even continue being kind to them however they may see u thru the lense of their own misunderstanding awareness. Even your reaching out can be considered stalking so it is better to give your kindness to someone else. Considering the time of the dream (2009) and what has transpired since; the dream is prophetic. Who would have known it then? Thanks for the reminder Eric. i had forgotten the dream.
