Title: Soul Recognition
Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jul 01, 2015 06:28 pm
one of the biggest blessings I've noticed about meditation is the presence of soul recognitions or bliss consciousness that results from meditating. you can just be doing anything - your work, waking up, after meditation, during meditation or doing anything during the day and suddenly you have this feeling of recognition of what feels like bliss. it kind of creeps up on u. It comes and goes. it often seems like the moment you latch onto it then it suddenly disappears.

It also often occurs in connection with other people. not sure it is actually what you see in someone or whether it is something we project on that person from our own soul recognition. it could be a little bit of both.

Steve, I know what you mean. Strangely, in a period it came when I was driving out of town. It is also frustrating when it goes away. I can imagine saints enjoy that state of blissful soul recognition all the time. A peak or a step above this state would be called a state of superconsiousness and a further step above would be samhadi. I could never relate it to outward stimuli, except sometimes some passages of the holy writings or some religious music.

To me, it never occurred in connection with other people, except of course with great saints
