Title: Meditation; helpful aids to entering the meditative state. Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Mar 10, 2015 12:22 pm I would like to start a thread with people offering their tips to entering the zone of silence and meditation. I would appreciate contributions from everyone!
Steve Hydonus Title: Focus, Attention and Relaxation Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Oct 14, 2015 04:14 pm i have noticed in my meditations that i often struggle with focus verses tension. Without focus the mind wanders and restlessness is the outcome. The body may b pliable yet after spending time 'tryng' to focus there may come periods of tension. The body 'wants' to get up and do something. Perhaps it may b that the body does need appeasement to some degree; rather then a tug of war to 'force' what cannot b forced. i believe this is why meditations often go better at the beach, near a stream, at a park or in the woods etc.....or other natural setting (for me). This is because if the weather is comfortable and there r no pests to bite u.... u can get up move around.... do some walking meditation, swim, practice hatha yoga, maha mudras, energization etc. At home it is helpful to take a shower. It seems to relax me.

Some other times the body is sleepy or teh mind is restless and ends up influencing the body. It happens often randomly. My main tip is shower or exercise before meditation, that usually advantageous. Title: Re: Meditation; helpful aids to entering the meditative state. My main tip is shower or exercise before meditation, that usually advantageous. Showers always help me as well. Opens up the pours and water harmonizes the body. At times of being sleepy it is not even good to meditate because it can get u in the habit of nodding off in meditation. I have found that very quiet nature sounds or new age type of music really helps as well as incense to focus the mind on the breath.
