Title: Mind Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jul 01, 2014 01:13 am http://www.swamij.com/fourfunctionsmind.htm
Observing the mind and how it functions is a valuable tool in self - understanding and self realization. When we practice the presence we find all the various distractions to focusing the mind constructively. We can often see how we startfeeling disconnected through outside Iinfluences and inner apathy. There are various ways of looking at the mind. This is an eastern approach and description. Manas = sensory, processing mind, sense mind Chitta = storage of impressions, feeling Ahamkara=ego Buddhi = knows, decides, judges, and discriminates, intellect to be continued...input from others is appreciated. :o No lie. Title: Re: Mind Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Jul 01, 2014 02:21 am Is that you pet peeves?
Anyhow as I was saying; i spoke with Kingfisher last nite and we were discussing how the mind works. We get impresions thru the sense (manas) mind and then the ahamkara (ego) mind interprets what we have seen as something different. We then have feelings ( chitta ) we project on others and misinterpret the world around us. It is up to the Buddhi mind to discriminate and recognize the truth about what we project on others in our life. Title: Re: Mind Post by: Jitendra Hydonus on Aug 27, 2014 11:33 am From a spiritual point of you all the world's problems stem from one simple cause: the mind. So the solution becomes quite clear. Each one of us has a lot of work to do to clear the mind of prejudicial and divisive thoughts. Each one of us must work at emptying the mind of restless worldly thoughts to get a view of the Self to see things as they are not as we think they are. Jitendra |
